After spending the last few months covering College Football, my focus is back to covering the NBA and basketball. This summer I had the chance to cover two of the Duke games here in Canada. I chatted with Coach K and all “Fab Freshman” - my nickname, does it work? - and posted video on YouTube this summer. I got busy with college football and while going through files realized there’s some great podcast material. I start off the Podcast with a clip of Tre Jones, Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish explaining how Tre organized all of these freshmen committing to Duke. I loved how this was all done through a group chat Tre started with his buddies. Fantastic story that I loved learning about and I think you will, too. Coach K had a 15-minute media scrum and here are some of the highlights. For me, personally, I loved that Coach K joked with me about a friend mistake I made at the start of his presser. You’ll get a bit of our joking when you hear my question about Zion Williamson. I wrap things up with some audio from Zion Williamson explaining the chemistry he had already formed with RJ Barrett this summer, Tre Jones explaining his in-house visit from Coach K, Cam Reddish explaining how daily competition is pushing all of the freshman and RJ Barrett explaining why it was great to play his first game in a Duke jersey in Canada.
