We're so excited to be joined by friends to celebrate our 200th episode. Tonight we have Joe Patrick, Eric Quintana, and Paysoninho himself to talk about the past few years here watching Atlanta United throughout all the highs and lows and roster transitions that brought us this far. We talk about ATLUTD's current run of form and what the future may hold looking head in the 2023 MLS campaign. Despite injuries to several key players, Atlanta managed to pick up another point on the road against Toronto FC this past weekend and maintains their 3rd place standing within the Eastern Conference. Now as the team looks ahead to Open Cup play, how does the team move forward without risking a roster fallout from injuries like the 2022 season? This show was a great reminder of what makes this fanbase in Atlanta so special. It's about the people and the friendships we have come to share with all of you. Thank you all so much for your continued support and listening to our Banter each and every week. xoxoSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/atlanta-united-fc-weekly-a-home-before-dark-atlanta-united/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Kevin and Tim are back to talk through Atlanta United FC's recent breakthrough against Red Bull New York. This weekend's victory, during MLS Matchday 6, marked the first time the Five Stripes have topped the Red Bulls in a Major League Soccer regular season match. Though the performance was less than a resounding win or performance, it still marked the first time Atlanta managed to beat NY since their 2018 MLS Cup Championship. With the team back from International Duty it was evident that the combined efforts by Almada and Miles Robinson were critical to the 5 Stripes success. So far Atlanta seems to be on the path to continued success in the East, but only time will tell. With a challenging road game against NYCFC on the horizon, it’s anyone’s game inside of Yankee Stadium. Kevin and Dan are back to talk through the thrashing Atlanta United FC took at the hands of Columbus Crew during Matchday 5 of the Major League Soccer season. Unfortunately it wasn’t just that Atlanta lost, but the manner in which they did so. By what would be the worst loss in team history, there was little positives to take away. It didn’t help that the match was played during international break which saw standout performances in Argentina by Almada. Now with Gutman injured, the team will likely see new rotations with Etienne on the left wing as the 5 Stripes look to get back on track against the New York Red Bulls, which they have yet to beat during the regular season. One thing is for sure, it can’t get much worse than this. Kevin, Dan and Tim are back to talk about Atlanta United FC's drubbing of Western Conference opponent Portland Timbers during Major League Soccer Matchday 4, a rematch from the 2018 MLS Cup. A match that was a resounding win for Atlanta and a much needed springboard for the club. With goals scored by all 3 designated players, Almada, Araujo, and Giakomakis get on the scorecard as the 5-Stripes climb atop the Eastern Conference standings. This win brings with it the first of the season that left no doubt about Atlanta’s capabilities on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately the defense was unable to maintain the clean-sheet. One of the only criticisms by coach Gonzalo Pineda. One thing is certain, that if the team can continue on this pace, the future looks bright for ATLUTD. However, next week brings international duty call-ups for much of the roster. Can Atlanta maintain status quo without their full force on the pitch?Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/atlanta-united-fc-weekly-a-home-before-dark-atlanta-united/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
The boys recap the 1-1 draw to Toronto FC. In a game that finally saw the Greek God's debut, as Giakomakis got his first minutes with the team. Even though his goal didn't hold-up and was called offside, his impact is immediately felt with the team. While we're only a couple of weeks into the season, Atlanta looks to get back on track after missing the MLS playoffs several years in a row. Considering Josef Martinez's absence and lack of goal scoring for Miami so far, it certainly seems that GG will be every bit of the billed replacement that the 5-Stripes need in the lineup. We're BACK! Tonight we talk about the bevvy of injuries that continue to plague the Atlanta United roster following an Atlanta loss at home to Columbus Crew. The 5-stripes late game theatrics via Dom Dwyer's bicycle kick goal unfortunately were not enough to secure points for a team struggling to keep opponents out of their own net. We also talk about the GK situation and what we could see in the coming months as Shuttleworth's performance wanes. Lastly, what does Atlanta really need during the summer's transfer window? Will it be enough to secure a playoff spot? Only time will tell.Kevin, Tim and Dan are here to bring you a weekly look at their hometown MLS team – Atlanta United FC. Tonight we recap the recent match against the Chicago Fire, one that brought the fastest Hat Trick in Atlanta United history by Ronaldo Cisneros! Despite the goals that continued to be pulled from his hat, one thing that the team is still in short supply of is achilles tendons, as yet a third player in Miles Robinson goes down with a tear in the middle of the game. Really enjoy the podcast!
The ticket issue is not about price, the real issue is that people don't want to pay the $1,200 you mentioned to then sit dead in the middle of a sea of opposing fans, both for enjoyment and more importantly - for safety. I agree that the team with the better record should maintain home advantage but as mentioned, when you've got 70,000 other seats, what's the big deal?
