Health anxiety has been something that has monopolized a lot of my thought processes since I was a child and I know many other neurodivergent people who also struggle with this. As my mate Erin is one of those people and she's someone I trust and find it easy to talk to her I knew she was the perfect person to have on the podcast to talk about it, however, our brains had other ideas and at the halfway mark we segued nicely into talking about what makes us happy, learning to allow ourselves to be happy eradicating the shame attached to being drawn to the more traditionally childish and geeky things that we love and that make us super happy!Enjoy! For all things Erin related click here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price!Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!

Approximately 18 billion years ago I had a really good mate called Blair who was a fellow quirky person with an awesome sense of humour and never judged me for being my weirdy self. Over the years we lost touch and I always wondered what became of them... until one day a few weeks ago when Blair turned up in my "people you may know" on Instagram... Without hesitating (naturally impulsive nature anyone?!) I added Blair and got chatting... and would you believe it.... Blair was diagnosed with ADHD 2 days after me!!! I'm thrilled that Blair was happy to come on the podcast so we could catch up and talk about how we are feeling post diagnosis. Please note that this is a very candid chat between two old mates who hadn't seen each other in an age. We cover a ton of topics and I'm so grateful for Blair coming on the podcast to share their story. Blair is a Scottish vocal coach, lecturer, songwriter and performance artist based in South London. They are the founder and artistic director of Errata, London’s Queerest Choir and collaborates frequently with LGBTQIA+ choirs and vocal groups. Blair is currently studying a PhD, creating cabaret performances and is the mother of all cats.Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!
I'm back! Who'd have thunk?! And after leaving season one on a cliffhanger... this week all will be revealed! The last time Sam and I recorded together (which was meant to be about sex, relationships and gender) we managed to stay on topic for about 45 minutes and then we pretty much forgot we were recording for the next hour or so and as a Christmas gift here's the "best" bits from that previously unreleased part of that conversation. Please bear in mind that this is a chat between two good mates who both have a slightly wicked sense of humour so some of the stuff we say should be taken with a pinch of salt.I'll be back in a couple of weeks to start season 2 and to resolve last episode's cliff-hanger! Until then, I hope you all have the Christmas you need for you. Essex-based neurodivergent artist and colour lover, David Kirkman turns the chaos, honesty and lived experience of AuDHD and mental-health ups and downs into bold, positive art that celebrates exactly who we are — fully and unapologetically. We talked not only about art, and how David found his way to becoming a professional artist, but also labels, David's experience of going through the diagnosis process and getting out of our comfort zones and what that means for us as neurodivergent people. For all things David:Check out his Instagram And for more information on how to purchase your very own artwork check out his websiteSend me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!

It's just me this week with a follow up to the Mucky F**ker episode. This week we had people (who we both ADORE!) over to stay. TERRIFYING!!! Did we manage to get the house into an ok enough state to have guests over? Did I managed to keep my shit together? Did I spend far too much money on Lego??? I think we already know the answer to the last question anyway...Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!
No, sadly not the godfather of soul, but the Dracula of The ADHD Adults podcast, Professor James Brown joins me on the podcast today for one of my most open and honest episodes yet. MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING: This week James and I talk about disordered eating. We both speak from lived experience and James also talks about the science behind why so many neurodivergent people struggle with this. Please listen with caution if this is something that could potentially trigger you in a negative manner. Not only is today the fourth annual ADHDAF day, but I've got the awesome Erin Fung of alt_audhd fame on the podcast to talk about what it's like parenting AuDHD children as an AuDHD parent, how things have changed with parenting generationally and coping with ARFID. We, of course go off on many tangents today including what made me pluck up the courage to invite her onto the podcast... our mutual love of the movie Labyrinth, funko pops and the muppets! Trigger warning, today's episode contains discussion on disordered eating amongst other topics some listeners may find upsetting.Join me in celebrating the fourth annual ADHDAF day by uploading a picture or video of you wearing an item of leopard print and use the hashtag #ADHDAFDAYFind your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Find out more about ADHDAF Day and donate to the Just Giving page here!Buy your ADHDAF Day pin (with £7.50 from the sale of each pin going to the chazza!) here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com

October is ADHD Awareness month and what better way to kick things off than a chat with the Queen of the Leopard Print Army, Laura Mears Reynolds, about the importance of peer support. Laura started up the ADHDAF+ charity in order to connect and empower late diagnosed people of marginalised genders in the UK and form peer support groups. I know how important peer support can be after growing up in a world that's geared towards neurotypical people. Also… she taught me how to do links!! 🫶🐆🫡🎖️Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Find out more about ADHDAF Day and donate to the Just Giving page here!Buy your ADHDAF Day pin (with £7.50 from the sale of each pin going to the chazza!) here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs here or email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com
She’s back! The queen of chaos returns! Sam Brown, or Mrs AuDHD as you may know her, is back on the podcast and originally were going to talk about how sex is affected by our neurodivergence, but shockingly enough we got distracted and went off on a some fun tangents about relationships, gender and trying to look at things from other people’s perspectives. Molly Siobhan Parker is a super talented neurodivergent actor and film maker who has created a short film called “I’m Autistic & Also That B!tch” that will hopefully be released by the end of this year. I caught up with Molly to discuss her late diagnosis, what inspired her to make the film and why Asperger’s is no longer a name we use when describing asd. https://www.instagram.com/imautisticfilmSend me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast!Audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com
As all listeners of the podcast know, one of my biggest hurdles that affects me in so many ways is the state of my house. Check out the Mucky F**ker episode for more background on that! But then I discovered an instagram profile called Clear & Cheer that's run by a declutterer called Gemma Louise who works along side neurodivergent people helping them sort through the chaos in their homes and restore some order. Gemma was great to chat with and definitely gave me more than a few handy hints on how to reclaim a bit of order in my house and hopefully you can gain some too!www.instagram.com/clearandcheerSend me your Little Wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast!www.instagram.com/audhdorjustabitweirdaudhdorjustabitweird@gmail.comAnd there's still time to donate to the Big ADHD Fundraiser where 11 intrepid leopard print lycra clad lovelies cycled 288 miles across Scotland, Wales and England from August 1st - 3rd to raise money for ADHD Adult UK and ADHDAF+ charities, two charities I hold very dear to my own heart.https://givestar.io/gs/the-big-adhd-fundraiser-2025

Founder of Firebird, the consultancy making workplaces kinder and more inclusive for everyone, Rachel draws on her own journey as an autistic and ADHD advocate to break down barriers and spark honest conversation. Author of "How to Be Autistic," a supportive guide for the newly diagnosed, and creator of the brilliantly titled TEDx talk "Inclusion Is Selfish," Rachel challenges us to see neurodivergence as a source of strength, and busts myths with a warmth and irreverence that sticks. I was thrilled to get Rachel on the podcast to talk about all of this and her new venture...
