Edmund Kennedy may not be a household name like Liechhardt or Burke & Wills, but his tenacity, his drive and his ultimate achievements in the field of exploration put him up among the top explorers of the time. His premature demise robbed Australia of a bloke who undoubtedly would've played a much bigger part in the shaping of a nation. This is his story.  

When you talk about men with a tenacious, serious can-do attitude and an absolute resolve to achieve what they set out to achieve, they don't come much more qualified than the Scotsman, John McDouall Stuart. Built like a jockey but tougher than a $2 steak, Stuart punished both his mind and body to be the first to cross the Australian continent without the loss of life.
