Fishing report for the week of November 2020.  Melbourne is still under restriction at the time of putting together this podcast.Port Phillip Bay's Snapper season is in full swing - and there's plenty of action being had.  Particularly by Boaties.  However the wilder weather last week has seen some excellent landbased action being reported too.Western Port Bay Snapper is still firing beautifully.Bream have been firing off after the recent rains.  Plus lots of Rainbow Trout, Yellowbelly and out on Lake Eildon even Murray Cod. 

The last fishing report for October 2020 sees the Snapper reports coming in like crazy.  Western Port Bay and Port Phillip Bay is a hive of Snapper fishing activity.  With some really good sized models being landed.  Squid and Estuary Perch catches are on the rise.  Plus there's a lot of Freshwater activity with some fantastic Rainbow Trout being landed.  For those who like landing Mud Marlin - aka European Carp - well, they're firing up too.  So get out there and remove this introduced and government proscribed pest from our waterways - and have fun doing it!

This episode of Getfished Australian Fishing looks at Melbourne Fishing Reports as well as wider regional Victoria.  Both Boat, Kayak and Land-Based.  Snapper are in Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay.  Bream are biting in the estuaries.   Squid fishing has been going great.  While Redfin, Rainbow Trout and Yellowbelly reports are starting to filter in.  This is the first report that we've been waiting to make.  As COVID-19 restrictions begin to be lifted in Melbourne.  Hopefully, as restrictions continue to be removed more fishos can go fishing more often.

Fishing The Powlett River Estuary, five minutes from the township of Kilcunda, is often blocked to the sea. Causing it to form a wide, shallow lake.I've been fishing in this area for decades.  It's a great spot.  The Powlett is always fishable.  Even when the mouth is blocked by a sandbar to the sea.  Best times are dawn and dusk.  Target species include Black Bream, Mullet even Australian Salmon.  I've caught sea-run Brown Trout in the Powlett River!!

Sweeneys Flats Eltham is well known to locals. With its bushland setting sitting on the Yarra River it offers a number of freshwater habitats for fishing.It’s only around 40 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.Including faster-flowing rapids. Larger pools and several tributaries meet the Yarra River in this area. Including the Mullum Mullum Creek.
