Description

Parenting is hard, but being a focused, intentional and Christian parent is even harder, especially when you’re trying to lead by example and avoid the “Do as I say and not as I do” tagline. Being there for your kids and trying to teach them all they need to know while also being attuned to yourself is no easy feat, but it can be done and is so worth the time and effort it takes. I not only want to help you be authentic to yourself, but in your parenting, as well. Listen each week as I offer advice, share scripture and stories as well as lots of thoughts on how we can all be self-aware and self-assured in our parenting to be the best parents - and Christian example- we want to be and our children need us to be each and every day.

We've all been there. Our kids are disrespectful to us and what do we do? We lose our patience, fly off the handle, make threats, you name it. We react, instead of responding. Well, friend, that changes today because today you're going to learn the two questions I ask myself when my kids get disrespectful that have helped me so much in learning: > how to respond to them so I can communicate with them in healthier ways and > maintain my connection with them. As a BONUS, if you want to learn the 3-step method I used (and still use) to discipline my students while I was a houseparent, grab it below! ⤵️ My 3 Secrets to Discipline Your Children Effectively and In Love https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vRs_OczjhQ3j8NSLBdfVUlRt-fKpc0MNY7vBDOVk9Zg/edit?usp=sharing

2025-01-0921:55

Yelling at our kids is out for 2025. But yelling at them should never have been in. However, it happens. We're human and we mess up. The goal, though, is to have it happen less often because we want to be better parents, have better relationships with our kids and build stronger families. So, whether you grew up with yelling in your family of origin, come from a culture where yelling is the norm, are having difficulty controlling your emotions, or feel very triggered by what your kids do, or don't do, know that you can change. And when you mess up, you can repair. So, if you're ready to make that change and do better for yourself and your kids in 2025 and beyond, take a listen to today's episode so you can have a strong, healthy relationship with your kids every single day.
