Description
I am a life coach for ADHD parents and I wanted to create a podcast as a lead generation tool, originally. As I started to look at what that might look like; it became less and less about my business and more and more about putting something of value into the world and creating opportunities to have healing and insightful conversations that would facilitate more authenticity in the world.
This podcast was created as a space to explore authenticity and the variety of ways it can affect how we show up daily. It has been focused even further in the second season to focus on neurodiversity inside of that struggle. Guests will range from licensed therapists and psychologists and entrepreneurs to stay-at-home moms and perpetual students. Every person in this world wakes up everyday and consciously or subconsciously makes a decision to enter the world as themselves or not and I want to explore the stories of how that decision has impacted peoples lives.
By providing a variety of interviews, stories and resources I desire to create a community that promotes growth, acceptance and understanding for people who have felt alone, singled out, or bullied for being different.
Join me on Authentic On Air where authenticity and neurodiversity meet!

Tonight on the Authentic On Air podcast I will be discussing the importance of thinking small for ADHD parents.

This applies in a few different ways and suggest mentalities that ADHD people aren’t necessarily familiar with.

My goal in life right now is to share the lessons in life that I have learned to help me stop sedating and running from my responsibilities as a spouse and a parent.

I spent so much time looking at the big picture over 20 years out that I had no idea what life was supposed to be to look like right now.

Plus we will cover some of the other powers of thinking small.

I want to talk about leadership. But not what it looks like when you do but instead what it looks like when you don’t.

I consider myself to be a leader. For myself. For my family. For my clients. For my following.

Am I always a good leader? No.

Here is the evidence that sometimes I flat out fail as a leader.

1. My wife is struggling to trust the process and have faith that we will find a place to live.

As my family’s spiritual leader I am supposed to clarify the vision and hold space for my family to find clarity and confidence in the vision through my leadership. Fail.

2. I have clients still living in the darkness of their lies and I am missing opportunities to collide with them through meaningful conversations because I haven’t done my due diligence.

I have a client who is hundreds of dollars behind on his coaching fees but because I wasn’t watching the backend of my automations I didn’t know. He is telling me weakly everything is trending well financially while he is declining on every payment. I can’t pay for him but I can hold him accountable and use it as a trigger for a truly honest conversation. But I have to be paying attention for that.

3. I want to build a social media movement guiding ADHD parents to mute their inner critic and trust their inner voice. Right now I can’t even get a conversation started with one follower, let alone tens of thousands.

The leader of a movement knows what to say to engage his followers in meaningful conversation and I am just not there as a leader yet.

I am not the leader I want to be! It sucks. But it is a fact.

Facts fuel solutions though. That is good news. I just defined 3 solid things I can actively start working on so I can increase my status as a leader.

That is how easy it is to grow when you tell the truth.

You admit what isn’t working.

You identify how you want it to work.

You take action to fix it.

What is something you are failing at that you want to fix right now?
On today’s episode of Authentic On Air “Our Impulsive Journey”, Coach Bruce provides an update on his journey, discussing his progress in his body, balance, business, and relationship with God.

He talks about the challenges he's faced, including health issues and the need to support his wife's healing and growth. He emphasizes the importance of taking responsibility for past actions and focusing on personal development.

Coach Bruce also shares his excitement and fear as he embarks on a new phase of his journey, leaving everything behind and rewriting the story of his family. He invites listeners to join him in uncovering their impulsive potential.

Takeaways

Taking responsibility for past actions and focusing on personal development is crucial for growth and improvement.
Supporting and being a constant presence for a partner's healing and growth is essential in a relationship.
Embracing fear and discomfort is a sign of growth and can lead to learning and self-discovery.
Leaving behind everything known and rewriting one's story can be both exciting and terrifying.
Uncovering one's impulsive potential and living impulsively can bring satisfaction and purpose to life.

In this episode, Coach Bruce discusses the concept of impulsive faith and how it relates to his personal journey. He shares his struggles with feeling physically unwell and the challenges of maintaining a routine while on the move. Bruce also talks about the importance of trusting oneself and listening to the inner voice, as well as the role of faith in guiding one's actions. He emphasizes the need for balance between impulsivity and structure, and encourages ADHD parents to explore their own inner voice and live with power and potential.

Keywords: impulsive faith, personal journey, physical health, routine, trust oneself, inner voice, faith, balance, structure, ADHD parents, power, potential

Takeaways
Impulsive faith is the idea of trusting oneself and listening to the inner voice.
Maintaining physical health and a routine can be challenging while dealing with external stressors.
Having faith in oneself is intertwined with having faith in a higher power.
Finding balance between impulsivity and structure is important.
ADHD parents can benefit from exploring their inner voice and living with power and potential.
On today’s episode of Authentic On Air the topic of worthiness is the focus and it is an intriguing exploration of where to look for your personal value.

Whether you see your value or not you have it.

When you see it you start to treat yourself like you are worth a shit. From there you can start to make decisions that drive you to your purpose.

Big takeaway: Know your worth and act accordingly.

Live by a code. Tell the truth about your situations and deal with what you can prove to be true.

Define a desired result and address the facts in a way that gets you the result you want.

If what you want is to stop letting life happen to you we should have a conversation.

At Impulsive we stop the guilt fear and shame conditioned into us and learn how to live by a code and deal in the currency of truth and the facts.

From there we teach you how to trust your impulses to guide you to a future of passion and purpose. www.impulsive.life/consult
If you are an ADHD adult it almost impossible to have a solid self-perception in this day and age. You were raised being told so much of what you naturally are is not ok.

Intense. Unfiltered. Impulsive. Emotional. Talkative. Awkward. Uncomfortable.

If you don’t feel like any of those things describe you try to remember the young version of you on the playground or the classroom being ostracized. Then try to shed the social norms that you have assimilated as preferred behavior and realize what is left is who you actually are.

The dissonance that is created between the core you and the one that is shown to the world today causes a lot of internal conflict that shows itself in some funky ways.

For me it was body dysmorphia and serial suppression to try and keep the depression and pain at bay. That started at a very young age. I just wanted to be a kid. But between my parents and the public school system I was told there was a specific type of kid I needed to be to be accepted in society.

In becoming that type I buried the real me deep inside until many years later and when I looked in the literal and metaphorical mirror it was always warped.

It showed parts of me as bigger than they were and others the reverse. Never could I just see myself for as I really was.

Long story short, do not make decisions based on how you feel about what you see in the warped mirror!

Live by a code. Tell the truth about your situations and deal with what you can prove to be true. Define a desired result and address the facts in a way that gets you the result you want.
If what you want is to stop letting life happen to you we should have a conversation. At Impulsive we stop the guilt fear and shame conditioned into us and learn how to do just like I said before. Live by a code and deal in the currency of truth and the facts and from there teach you how to trust your impulses to guide you to a future of passion and purpose. www.impulsive.life/consult

If you like my content and the way I teach then you will love my webinar on the connect method. The Connect Method teaches you how to find a deeper connection than you have ever known so you can Connect with who matters most. That is taught on Thursdays @ 3:30 pm central go to www.impulsive.life/connect to register right now!
Indecision has costs me so much over my life!

Years of deep engagement with my family.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars left on the table.

My fitness. A 400 lb bench press that I was just days away from.

Everything I have lost in this life has been from 1 of 2 things. Indecision and lies. More often than not they could be tied to the same root!

What decision are you putting off and what is it costing you?

For example if you are putting off the decision to do everything that it takes to reconnect with your spouse in a deep and meaningful way it is going to cost you… big.

But it doesn’t have to. Thursdays at 3:30pm central I will be teaching the Connect method to engage in dormant, distant, or estranged relationships with your closest loved ones.

Go to www.impulsive.life/connect to sign up for this free webinar and learn this method which can bring even the worst connections back from the dead. If love ever existed in a relationship there is a path back, you just have to make the decision to do what it takes.

Maralen Pennyfeather is so much more than her abuse story and I really enjoyed getting to know so much more of her in episode 22 of Authentic On Air. This ADHD host really loved going on a neurodivergent roller coaster of a conversation with my ADHD and Autistic guest. We got into a lot of deep and emotional subjects but we also had a great time and laughed together.
I know I truly gained a friend in this one and I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
