Who had the better season between Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc? And which other IndyCar star joined three-time series champion Alex Palou in the Top 10? Learn more about your ad choices. Kevin Turner sits down with Gary Watkins and Haydn Cobb to break down the annual Autosport Top 50 for 2024, evaluating the best drivers across all of the National and International Racing scene. In the first of a two-part mini-series, Kevin goes behind the scenes and explains how our journalists and reporters put the list together, who was unfortunate to just miss out on making the list and who has dropped off the 2023 Top 50, before discussing positions 50-21 of the list itself, featuring drivers from F1, F2, the British Touring Car Championship, IMSA, Formula E and Super GT, Super Formula and the World Endurance Championship. Bryn Lucas is joined by Alex Kalinauckas and Kevin Turner to answer your questions in the latest Autosport Q+A. And what will the aftermath be for the driver who misses out? Also in this week's edition; a debate over whether Lando Norris or Charles Leclerc had the better season, the chances of Rwanda joining the F1 calendar in the future, and whether 2024 was Lewis Hamilton's worst season in the sport. Ben Hunt and Jonathan Noble closes out the 2024 season as they review the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Together, they review Lando Norris' dominant victory and with it, McLaren's first Constructors Championship since 1998, the pitfalls they had to face such as Oscar Piastri being spun out on the opening lap, whether they've been the best team across the season, and Charles Leclerc's 16-place comeback to get on the podium. There's also a discussion on Pierre Gasly sealing sixth in the Constructors for Alpine, as well as looking ahead to the Young Driver Test and the potential for a five-team title fight in 2025. Alex Kalinauckas and Jonathan Noble review Saturday's Qualifying at the Abu Dhabi GP. McLaren enters Sunday's race as a huge favourite to win the Constructors Championship after locking out the front row, led by Lando Norris' eighth pole position of the season. Jon and Alex break down the potential threats standing in the way between the team and glory, such as Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz starting behind them from Row 2. There's also more heartbreak for Charles Leclerc after a track limits breach knocked him out in Q2, forcing the Monegasque driver to start from the back of the grid post-penalty, a shock elimination for Lewis Hamilton in Q1 after a freak bollard, and Nico Hulkenberg's exceptional performance to qualify in fourth before receiving a three-place grid penalty for overtaking in the pitlane. Alex Kalinauckas and Ben Hunt continue their coverage of the Abu Dhabi GP as they review both Friday practice sessions. Together, they discuss Christian Horner attempting to smooth over the war of words between Max Verstappen and George Russell, despite being called a "yapping terrier" by Mercedes counterpart Toto Wolff. There's also a discussion on why it's advantage McLaren in the Constructors Championship fight as Alex reviews the long-run averages, Charles Leclerc's 10-place grid penalty after a battery issue was found in his Ferrari, and the latest on Sergio Perez's future as F2 title contender Isack Hadjar shared the Red Bull garage during FP1. Alex Kalinauckas and Ben Hunt head to the Marina to discuss a heated Media Day at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. George Russell and Max Verstappen engaged in a heated war of words in their respective media sessions and press conferences, with Russell calling Verstappen a "bully" and the Dutchman retorting with "Backstabber", with even Toto Wolff intervening to criticise both Verstappen and team boss Christian Horner a "yapping terrier". Alex and Ben try to make sense of it all while also previewing Lewis Hamilton's farewell to Mercedes and their takes on the McLaren vs Ferrari Constructors battle. Learn more about your ad choices. Kevin Turner hosts the latest episode of the Autosport Podcast as he sits down with Stefan Mackley and broadcaster Karun Chandhok to preview the 11th season of Formula E, which kicks off in Sao Paolo this weekend. After Pascal Wehrlein won the Championship in a heated decider in London in the summer, he's back to try to retain the title, and if pre-season testing was anything to go by, Porsche looks like entering Season 11 as favourites. They've also expanded to six cars on their powertrains as the rebranded Kiro will also be running previous-spec powertrains. Their main opposition will likely be Jaguar, who still carry arguably the strongest driver line-up in the series with Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy. But can the pair of New Zealanders co-exist? There's also a discussion about Lola returning to Motorsport in collaboration with Yamaha and F2 race winner Zane Maloney making his series debut, why it could finally be Dan Ticktum's year, and how the new "Pit Boost" feature will affect the series famous "Peloton" racing style. Jake Boxall-Legge and Mark Mann-Bryans join Bryn Lucas for another edition of the Autosport Q+A, where we answer your questions every Wednesday! On this week’s episode, we discuss the latest reports that Red Bull is set to replace Sergio Perez with Liam Lawson and ask what it could mean for the much-speculated future of Williams’ Franco Colapinto.  There are also discussions on the premature end of Esteban Ocon’s Alpine career, the fallout between George Russell and Max Verstappen in the stewards' office, the deteriorating relationship between the drivers and the FIA, and who will win the Constructors Championship between McLaren and Ferrari.  Learn more about your ad choices. Stuart Codling and Jonathan Noble sit down to review a controversial Qatar Grand Prix.  There’s analysis on the brilliance of Max Verstappen, who took his ninth victory of the season, leading from lights to flag after passing inherited pole sitter George Russell off the start line.  But the race was clouded by more stewarding controversy as Alex Albon’s fallen wing mirror led to Valtteri Bottas crashing into it, Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz receiving debris punctures, and a race-changing 10-second stop-and-go penalty for Lando Norris for ignoring double-waved yellows. Jon and Stuart review what any in the paddock described as “Draconian” penalties. There are also words on an exclusive interview Jon had with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem on Sunday morning and the reports Alpine are about to drop Esteban Ocon early for reserve driver Jack Doohan.   Learn more about your ad choices. Jonathan Noble and Stuart Codling sit down to review all the action from Saturday's Sprint Race and Grand Prix Qualifying from Qatar. There's an immediate reaction to the news that Max Verstappen's pole position was removed; with the Dutchman demoted to second via a controversial penalty for driving unnecessarily slowly with George Russell in Q3, with the British driver now inheriting pole as a result. There's also an analysis of Lewis Hamilton's continued criticism of his poor qualifying form, Lando Norris giving up a Sprint victory to teammate Oscar Piastri on the run to the line, and Sergio Perez's losing a position in the pitlane to Franco Colapinto after the Mexican driver missed the green light at the start of the Sprint. Alex Kalinauckas and Stuart Codling analyse Friday’s action at the Qatar Grand Prix. Lando Norris narrowly beat George Russell to pole in Sprint Qualifying, and Alex breaks down the different approaches taken to the session as the drivers had to juggle cooler conditions than expected and keep their rear tires in the right operating window. There’s also discussion on the fight for sixth in the Constructors between Alpine, Haas and RB the potential final point in tomorrow’s sprint, and Qatar themselves buying a minority state in the Audi team. Be sure to listen to the end for a sneak peek at the latest episode of the James Allen on F1 Podcast, a McLaren vs Ferrari special. Learn more about your ad choices. Jonathan Noble and Stuart Codling begin their Qatar GP coverage as they review Media Day at the Lusail International Circuit. In this podcast, the duo discuss the drivers reacting to the latest round of firings by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, as Deputy Race Director Janette Tan and veteran Race Steward Tim Meyer were both let go in surprise fashion, with George Russell reacting by saying: "We'd love to get a little bit of clarity and understanding of what's going on and, you know, who's getting fired next.” There's also discussion on progress towards new overtaking regulations and meetings with drivers on the matters, and what Qatar has done with the circuit to avoid a repeat of the tyre failings seen during last year's race. After a hectic Vegas GP, Bryn Lucas hosts the latest edition of the Autosport Q+A alongside Haydn Cobb and Jake Boxall-Legge. On the show this week, you, the Autosport audience, asked where Max Verstappen ranks on the all-time list of F1 drivers after capturing his fourth World Championship and pondered what more he needs to do to be on the level of Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, and Juan Manuel Fangio. There's also a breakdown of what our experts think would happen if Verstappen swapped cars with McLaren's Lando Norris. Who would win the title? Also on the show; analysis of Carlos Sainz and whether he was right to be so bullish with teammate Charles Leclerc, ranking the American tracks on the current F1 calendar, and asking whether the excitement over Williams' Franco Colapinto has died down after a couple of high-profile crashes in recent races. In a shock announcement, Formula 1 has announced that the sport has an “agreement in principle” with General Motors to join the grid in 2026 via their Cadillac brand. Bryn Lucas is joined by Jake Boxall-Legge in a special video to break down how the negotiations, which had seemingly stalled, suddenly got pushed through during the Las Vegas GP weekend and why F1 changed its mind on GM’s proposal. In addition, the pair also discuss who could supply the team with power units in the interim, Andretti’s role within the Cadillac F1 team going forward, the history of the family in the sport itself, and who could potentially drive for them in 2026. Ben Hunt and Mark Mann-Bryans head to the Casino to finish rounding up the Vegas Grand Prix weekend. Together they sit down and discuss Max Verstappen finishing fifth to win his fourth consecutive World Championship, becoming just the fourth driver to ever do. There's a deep dive into his managing drive in Vegas, as well as the key moments across the season that cemented the title, and just how far up the all-time list he sits with his fourth title secured. George Russell is also discussed at length as he led a brilliant Mercedes 1-2 finish in the race itself, with Lewis Hamilton mounting a charged comeback through the field from 10th on the grid. Ben and Mark also ponder that with Mercedes dominating in a controlled manner, what could Lewis be letting himself in for when he joins Ferrari next year, who had to deal with Charles Leclerc having a heated rant on teammate Carlos Sainz in front of him in the battle for the final podium spot. And finally, more on Alpine and the battle for sixth in the Constructors as Gasly's P3 grid start was ruined by a power-unit failure. Learn more about your ad choices. Ben Hunt and Mark Mann-Bryans take up their putters and head to the mini-golf course as they discuss Qualifying day at the Vegas GP. Between swings, the duo discuss George Russell taking his fourth pole position of the season ahead of Carlos Sainz and a surprise third for Alpine's Pierre Gasly. There's also more discourse on the differences in pace between Russell and teammate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying. Beyond that, there's a discussion on a huge crash in Q2 for Franco Colapinto, as he hit the outside wall at 50G's on his final hot lap, his health status for the race tomorrow, and the costly damage for the team as Williams suffers its fifth major crash in the last two weekends. Finally, Ben and Mark give their predictions for the podium for tomorrow's race. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Mark Mann-Bryans and Ben Hunt return after Friday's running to review FP1 and 2 in Las Vegas. The main story was Mercedes' dominance. Lewis Hamilton led both Friday practise sessions, fresh after responding to comments by his team boss about his "shelf life" during the final break in the calendar. Mark and Ben break down Hamilton's response on and off the track and discuss how the cold of Las Vegas is helping Mercedes set the pace. There's also discussion about a relatively easy start for new FIA Race Director Rui Marques and the driver's reactions to previous director Niels Wittich's departure, the Red Flag for Alex Albon in FP2, and where Red Bull fit amongst the pecking order after another slow start to the weekend. In a special edition of Autosport's F1 coverage, Emily Selleck chats with Ben Hunt and Mark Mann-Bryans from the famous Bellagio Fountains to cover Media Day for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix. In an extended preview, the trio discuss why Max Verstappen winning the Drivers' Championship in Vegas would be a monumental win for F1, Lando Norris' feelings in the media sessions about his dwindling title fight chances, as well as McLaren dropping its infamous "Papaya Rules". Also included is a discussion as to why Ferrari may be the dark horse this weekend and take the Constructor's Championship, and what Vegas has done to ensure a smoother Grand Prix on its second running. 12:02 A lot of subsonic noise on Jess' audio. You'd think she is banging her first on the table and the mike is right there.

If those are the fans of people's laptops spinning, they should ask a techie ( IT or a friend who's a geek) to remove the dust buildup from their heatsinks. Sometimes it forms into a strip of felt.

I am unsubscribing to this podcast due to the blatant favoritism toward Mercedes. Yes, they have a successful program and have done a great job of putting together a well rounded team. However, the digs and jabs at Ferrari powered teams is getting old. Whatever happened with their power unit last year, that is between them and the FIA. Also I have notice the occasional dismissal of Red Bull and a lack of highlighting Max and Alex's progress up the grid.

As we now have Albion in a RB , it does seem like they want to test him, to see if he is 2020 material. If he isn't, then we might get Kvyat?
