The Arizona Technology in Education Association (AzTEA), an International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) affiliate, is a professional non-profit organization devoted to increasing student achievement through technology in teaching and learning. Our mission is to empower the educational community in Arizona to infuse technology as an integral part of the educational process. We do this by providing advocacy and leadership, promoting educational reform, and supporting technology- based innovation through our services, activities, programs, and collaborative efforts.

AzTEA TnT UnConference-Feb. 2, 2013. Steve Dembo, Director of Social Media Strategy and Online Community Manager for Discovery Education. The 21st Annual Teaching and technology conference brought educators from around Arizona together to listen to Keynote presenter Steve Dembo's fantastic talk and to participate in AzTEA's first UnConference. Along with sevral planned sessions, the UnConference offered Breakouts created by the day’s participants on the spot, with the interests of the participants in mind.

Arizona's Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) supports districts, schools and educators in infusing technology into their classrooms. The Arizona K12 Center created the Arizona Technology Integration Matrix at http://azk12.org/tim with the belief that “encouraging the seamless use of technology in all curriculum areas and promoting technology is essential in today's 21st Century Classroom. The Arizona Technology Integration Matrix can help support the full integration of technology in Arizona’s schools.” This session will familiarize you with the five interdependent characteristics of meaningful learning environments with five levels of technology integration, and how they can help you support a technology infused student-centered classroom.
This presentation will take a look at why Arizona, and so many other states in our nation, are moving to college and career ready standards. Sarah will discuss the "seismic shifts" that are coming and how Arizona educators can respond to them. She will look at the changes in current workforce demands and public education’s response to those demands. Time will be spent looking at major shifts in the standards and how the PARCC* assessment will be designed to focus on college and career readiness. You will see that Arizona is STEAMING ahead with the implementation. *PARCC: Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers
