#06 - Let's Get Technical

#06 - Let's Get Technical

2019-09-3001:16:07

In this episode of the podcast, I'm joined by Ivan Soto, (our first remote guest who we virtually brought into the studio,) and with that in mind, we discussed technology. From assistive tech like the WeWALK and Braille Trail to security and accessible devices and software for people who are low vision and blind. We also talked about coding, and how Python is a great programming language for many purposes including applications, games, and even accessible games for people who are low vision and blind.
WeWALK is a $500 device that was designed by a blind person. It's designed to be fitted on a white cane to turn it into a "smart cane." I use the phrase "smart cane" in quotes here because I question the legitimacy and functional application of this so-called revolutionary device. It may change the world, and the lives of low vision and blind individuals, or it may fail miserably. Only time will tell.  For more information and links, visit www.azizaskswhy.com

In this episode, I talk about how your digital health goes hand-in-hand with your mental and physical health. Technology is in our home, school, and workplace, so it may be impossible to avoid tech. With that said, it is important to understand it and know how it impacts our health. For more information, go to www.azizaskswhy.com//ep/04.html
#03 - Generation ADHD

#03 - Generation ADHD

2019-09-1657:45

In a world where technology is an extension of who we are and how we live life at home, school, and work, it is no surprise that people suffering from depression and anxiety are also at an all-time high! We know that anxiety is not something that can be eliminated completely, however, we need to talk about healthy ways of coping with these issues rather than misusing drugs, drinking alcohol, or overeating.  Mental health and physical health go hand in hand, and if one is suffering, then an individual's overall quality of life is challenged. This episode is one of many that will be covering mental health. We will be discussing specific facets of mental health in greater detail in future episodes with different individuals; from experts on the topic to victims of the pressures of stress, depression, and anxiety.
In this episode, I question the future of the camera and in essence, the photography, videography and cinematography industries. With Apple's recent release of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, we are seeing smartphone company cameras reach levels of innovation that is unheard of! From the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10, to the phenomenal camera on the Google Pixel, right down to the industry-changing camera technology on the Apple iPhone 11 Pro, we are witnessing the evolution of the camera, and soon, we will see extinctions of old and dated camera technology just like what happened with 35mm film cameras. I may be wrong, but on the other hand, the evidence to support my claims is right there...
