The word "disparity" is often frowned upon, as if when coupled with the "race" it automatically means less than.  The truth is disparity is the texture in a patched fabric that is unraveling with each injustice. Dr. Chin talks about the teacher who raised her awareness and the statistics uncovering systems that fuel economic, social, financial, health and educational disparities in the African American community.   As a professor at Duke with a love for cultures,  Dr Chin is hopeful as her students are having difficult conversations with traditional thinking parents to bring awareness.
