LOST INTERVIEWS '3 MINUTE SILENCE' WRETCH 325 Minutes with Laura Alexandra Laura invites Wretch 32 for quick chat back to the KVM Mag Playground studio to talk about his new single.British rapper Jermaine Scott (aka Wretch 32) rose out of London's Tiverton Estate projects in Tottenham, along with his peers Devlin, Chipmunk, Kano, Stormzy, and Skepta. In the latter half of the 2000s, he joined grime collectives Combination Chain Gang and the Movement, and put out solo efforts as mixtapes. With 2007's Teacher's Training Day and 2008's Wretchrospective, Wretch 32 started showing mainstream potential, cleverly pairing hip-hop and grime in his songs. Ministry of Sound signed him by the decade's end, and Wretch's first major-label single, "Traktor," was released in January 2011, debuting at number five on the U.K. singles chart. His second studio album, Black and White, followed in mid-2011 preceded by two singles, the Stone Roses-sampling "Unorthodox" and the U.K. number one single "Don't Go." 2012 saw Wretchfronting a campaign for Adidas for the 2012 London Olympics while also heading out on tour with Example, the mixtape Wretchercise also appeared at the end of the year and featured guest spots from the likes of Kano, Krept, and Chip. While working on his third studio album, Wretch premiered two singles in 2013 -- "Blackout" and "Doing OK" -- and revealed he had been working with producer Knox Brown. After a year out of the spotlight, he returned in November 2014 with the single "6 Words," which reached number eight in the U.K. charts. Wretch also appeared in 2015 on the U.K. Top Five single "IN2" by WSTRN, while continuing to work on his third album, Growing Over Life, which saw release in 2016. Critics commended the album for some of his most honest lyrics and deepest narratives yet. While promoting the record, Wretch revealed that he had already gotten to work on its follow-up. The effort, titled FR32, saw release in late 2017 and featured guest performances from the likes of Kojey Radical, Avelino, and Kojo Funds. It’s been two years since Wretch 32 released his fifth studio LP Upon Reflection, a 12-track body of work that saw additional assists from Ghetts, Giggs, Talay Riley, Burna Boy, Avelino, and Knucks. While there hasn’t been much heard from the London emcee musically since, he did team up with Alec and Alex Boateng last year to become the creative director for their 0207 Def Jam imprint. Currently, the North Londoner works alongside A&R director Char Grant to provide strategic advice and help shape the fledgling label’s musical direction. This week, Wretch surprised fans with another big announcement — that he is releasing a new EP titled little BIG man, which officially lands this Friday (May 28). The project will see nine new cuts with contributions from the likes of K-Trap, Nafe Smallz, Tiggs Da Author, M Huncho, and SL. That’s not all, either — he also took to social media to liberate “3 Minute Silence,” a presumed sequel to 2018’s “1 Minute Silence.” As with its predecessor, “3 Minute Silence” is a direct message to the powers that be and the racial equality and injustice that continues to plague nations all over the planet.LOST INTERVIEWS BECKY HILL S.2 E.6 'FOREVER YOUNG' Laura Alexandra in conversation with BECKY HILL.Hill talks about working in the studio with 'LITTLE MIX' and more.LISTEN to 'Forever Young' in ALIEN BOOTH at the end of this amazing interview.

LOST INTERVIEWS 'HOUSTON GEMS' GARY MICHAEL HOUSTONIn this episode of 'LOST INTERVIEWS' Gary Michael Houston talks about his late great auntie Whitney Houston, Kanye West and conversing with Jay Z in central London with Fidel Channer.Gary Michael Houston was born and raised in South Plainfield, New Jersey. His life has been like 24/7 music school, being out in the spotlight is in his blood. He comes from a long line of musicians. The most iconic being his beloved late great aunt, and mentor, pop-icon Whitney Houston. Being the eldest grandson of gospel legend Cissy Houston, he gained an immense affinity for not only music but the music business itself at a very early and intimate age. Having the the same roots of hip hop, from gospel to pop to his current genre, he has been exposed to the entertainment industry on a high level. “I’ve been making music since forever. I’ve watched people become successful and make mistakes…. I feel like I’m more seasoned for this type of game," says Houston, who writes and co-produces all of his own material both vocally and visually. Gary uses his background as ammunition to succeed and to help others achieve their dreams. As he enters into his own adulthood and career, Gary chooses to use his talent and ambitions to spread the message that we are all self-defined and able to overcome anything, the true message of hip hop itself. Since he was 4 years old, Gary has been diligently working on perfecting his passion. His surroundings and family have enabled him to become a complete, multifaceted performing artist. Over the years, Houston has released a number of recordings including 3 successful independent projects (Corruption 1-3) and one compilation mix tape. He has been featured in Jenesis Magazine (online) as one of the Top Three artists that are in "Popular Demand," Gary is constantly growing his fan-base with what he likes to call the "E-merican Experience." In the UK, Gary has been twice featured in NME Magazine, and performed in front of a sell-out crowd at the prestigious Jazz Cafe in Camden, London. He believes "you can be anything you want to be. I just want people to dare to be different. You can't let society define you. Most listeners will only listen to what is deemed as being mainstream and by mainstream I mean "acceptable." Hip-Hop is a culture, a lifestyle that has many forms and includes people from all walks of life. I want people who listen to my music to experience that first hand. I want to change lives…not just minds." Refusing to live up to anyone else’s image of what he “should be”, Houston continues to push his own personal limits daily and vows to never fall into the surroundings that just keep him comfortable nor will he forget his mission with his success. Looking ahead to the future, Gary is gearing up for his latest project and first release in almost two years, The Collins LP. He hopes to continue expanding his reach at home and across the pond into Europe and Africa. Gary Michael Houston, is a gentleman to keep an eye and ear out for. He is destined for success not solely based on his heritage and talent, but also his work ethic and determination as he navigates the arena of music and leaves his imprint on society.LOST INTERVIEWS BECKY HILL S.2 E.6 'FOREVER YOUNG' Laura Alexandra in conversation with BECKY HILL.Hill talks about working in the studio with 'LITTLE MIX' and more.LISTEN to 'Forever Young' in ALIEN BOOTH at the end of this amazing interview.
LOST INTERVIEWS 'LIVE IN THE STUDIO SOMEWHERE IN LONDON' WITH DYLAN DILINJAH presented by Laura Alexandra Known by many as “Dylan from MTVs Making the Band/Daband”, Dylan Dilinjah shot to fame as one of the shows most memorable characters and has since proven himself as a credible and talented Caribbean hip hop artist. Dylan DilinJah was born in Brooklyn, NY to West Indian parents, and grew up being exposed to both Caribbean and American cultures. Dylan went to school both in New York and the Caribbean where he excelled, particularly in writing and displayed a strong natural talent for composition and prose at an early age. After being a selector and reggae/hip hop DJ for a period of time, he decided to pursue his love for writing music. Dylan DilinJah found a local studio and recorded over 80 songs, sold demos and performed in showcases before deciding to take his talent to a greater audience. Dylan auditioned for the MTV show "Making the Band" fronted by Diddy/P Diddy and was chosen out of 40,000 hopefulls to be one of six to form the group Daband. The group later went on to achieve Platinum success and worldwide TV recognition. After the show's contractual end Dylan embarked on 2 successful United States tours, various shows in the Caribbean, and released mixtapes that have been very well received by music lovers worldwide. There are quite a few things you may remember about Making The Band 2’s Dylan Dili, but arguably one of the most memorable is Dylan being immortalized by Dave Chappelle. But, Dili has worked consistently since the show to turn his reality television fame into a music career. Dili’s Pain 2 Power dropped in September and is currently up for Grammy consideration. “I was very Kanye on this one where I wanted perfection,” he says. “We’re in consideration right now. It’s not a nomination yet, but we’re in consideration for a Grammy.”He wasn’t too excited about seeing himself on Making the Band 2. “I hated watching myself because you don’t see how you are until you watch yourself,” he tells ESSENCE. Dili explains that it’s hard for viewers to understand the stress and strain of the grind. “Do they see the stress, the tears, the crying, the frustration, the lack of sleep, the constant grind? Do they see what you’ve really gone through? Nah.”Meeting Dave Chappelle was “dope.” Chappelle immortalized Dili in the now iconic Chappelle’s Show skit that poked fun at the hip-hop artist. “I had never met Chappelle before that and it was the most amazing link up ever and we had shots. We had a few shots and it cooled us out and I can’t wait to see him again.” And, if you’re curious Dili’s top five rappers don’t include himself. He lists in no particular order: Tupac, Eminem, Andre 3000, Lil’ Wayne and Lauryn Hill.On missing the opportunity to work with Kanye West and Will. I. Am.Da Band had the opportunity to work with the two artists before they became known wolrdwide. Dili says when he met Kanye they discussed working on Da Band’s album, but the group shut down the idea. Then, when Diddy introduced the group to Will. I. Am, it seemed the group wasn’t really feeling him either. “The Will.i.am sound wasn’t with them and they all left the room. The only people left was me and Sara, then Sara left and it was just me and Will.I.Am was like, ‘I love what you’re doing, but if the whole group is not doing it what can I do?'”And, he’s still cool with Diddy. LOST INTERVIEWS BECKY HILL 'FOREVER YOUNG' Laura Alexandra in conversation with BECKY HILL.Hill talks about working in the studio with 'LITTLE MIX' and more.LISTEN to 'Forever Young' in ALIEN BOOTH at the end of this amzing interview.British singer Becky Hill released her version of "Forever Young" on November 13, 2020 with at least 10p from every download of the song being donated to the food charity FareShare. Hill's cover was selected as the soundtrack to the 2020 McDonald's UK Christmas TV advert; as part of the promotion, McDonald's donated five million meals to FairShare during the 2020 festive season. Becky Hill's version spent six weeks in the UK charts peaking at 35.With her highly resonant voice and R&B-influenced style, Becky Hill first came to the public's attention competing on series one of The Voice UK. Ultimately reaching the show's semifinal round, Hill emerged a fan favorite and became the first Voice UK contestant to score a number one single when "Gecko (Overdrive)," her collaboration with Dutch EDM star Oliver Heldens, topped the U.K. singles chart in June 2014. Born on February 14, 1994 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England, Hill was no stranger to music when she first auditioned for the then new The Voice UK in 2012. As a teenager, she had sung with the acoustic rock & soul group Shaking Trees, which created some local buzz and received several plays on BBC Radio. On The Voice UK she made it to the semifinal with her powerful renditions of R&B songs by the likes of John Legend and others, before being eliminated. By her own admission, she was a novice in the music industry game and it took her 18 months to finally get a record deal. In the meantime, however, her sultry, soulful, older-than-her-years voice was highly sought-after by dance artists looking for feature vocalists. Her first recorded appearance, on British drum'n'bass artist Wilkinson's single "Afterglow," went to number eight on the U.K. singles chart. She then appeared on Rudimental's single "Powerless," singing with them at several U.K. festivals in 2013, including Glastonbury. Following her success with Heldens, Hill worked extensively with London-based dance producer MNEK and issued her debut solo single, "Caution to the Wind." It showcased a shift toward a more electronica-influenced sound, with twinkling melodies and production reminiscent of Four Tet. The Eko EP appeared in 2017, and included the single "Unpredictable." The single "Sunrise in the East" followed a year later. In 2019, Hill issued a pair of upbeat singles, "I Could Get Used to This," which featured Weiss, and "Wish You Well," which featured Sigala.Listen out for ‘LAST TIME’ 2021 new single.LOST INTERVIEWS BECKY HILL S.2 E.6 'FOREVER YOUNG' Laura Alexandra in conversation with BECKY HILL.Hill talks about working in the studio with 'LITTLE MIX' and more.LISTEN to 'Forever Young' in ALIEN BOOTH at the end of this amazing interview.
