On this episode of LE Tech Talks, research specialist Quin Patterson spoke with BWC TTA Co-Director Dr. Mike White and Sturgis, MI Director of Public Safety Ryan Banaszak about the use of BWCs in training with Tempe PD and the Sturgis, MI PD. Mr. Patterson and Dr. White spoke about how Tempe PD uses BWC footage in de-escalation training, and the different insights that BWC footage when looking beyond just use of force videos. Director Banaszak spoke about the different trainings in Sturgis where BWCs are used, and the changes in practice that have resulted from that use.

On this episode of LE Tech Talks, Jessica Dockstader, the BWC TTA Outreach Coordinator, sat down with Elliot Harkavy, the Technology Advisor for the BWC TTA Program, to discuss the live streaming capability of the latest generation of body worn cameras.   Ms. Dockstader and Mr. Harkavy discussed why agencies might be both interested and hesitant to use livestreaming technology in their BWC programs, how the technology could impact officer safety, and what issues departments might want to consider before implementing the technology.
On this episode of LE Tech Talks, Dr. Janne Gaub sat down with officers from three University Police Agencies, Chief Ed Book from the Santa Fe College Police Department, Captain Jason Wade with the University of Oregon Police Department, and Lieutenant Bradli Millington from the Kansas State University Police Department, who all implemented BWCs in their departments through the Body Worn Camera Policy and Implementation program.
