Back To The Podcast

We are back with our first film released and reviewed in 2019. Today we take a look at Captain Marvel, the seemingly invincible superhero played by Brie Larson and who looks to be the newest important member of the Avengers franchise. A stand alone origin story that has had both good and bad press and still made a ton of money. With Avengers Endgame around the corner this is probably relevant but we try to tackle the good and bad bits of this film. And we couldn't ignore the fact that we had received a brand new Star Wars trailer a few days before we recorded so couldn't resist the urge to have a quick chat about the upcoming episode 9, hitting cinemas this December. www.backtothepodcast.co.uk www.instagram.com/backtothepodcast www.facebook.com/backtothepodast

I have waited a few months to get to review this with as this is a film very close to my heart. Being a huge Queen fan and avid follower of the production of this film over the years, I was so very keen to watch it and talk about it with my podcasting partner. What I saw might surprise a lot of people as I seem to be the only person in the world that didn't think it was amazing. I actually thought it was quite poor. I thought Rami Malek was great as Freddie and did the best he could with a weak script and confused story telling. Although I felt like this I still walked out of the film smiling which is an unusual combination. Check it out for yourself. In the second of our Oscars specials from 2019 we take a look at Vice. A film that saw Christian Bale gain 40 pounds and do a sterling job portraying Dick Cheney. With a fantastic supporting cast, this film sees Adam McKay bring us his unique style of directing once again, hot off the set of directing The Big Short only a few years before. More Oscar films next week. Enjoy! www.backtothepodcast.co.uk www.instagram.com/backtothepodcast www.facebook.com/backtothepodcast www.twitter.com/back2thepodcast
