Description

Why do we find it hard to engage in conversation with people who have different opinions than ours? A big number of people are no longer interested in searching for truth, instead we look to feed what we already believe and we associate ourselves with people who think just like us!

This is why Politics and Religion can divide even the most rational people. We become slaves of our own thoughts.

We invite you to learn from stories, experiences and anecdotes of the people we sit with and engage in conversation through this podcast, we put social media and all differences aside, we sit and engage in conversation once again!

On this second part of the conversation we end our discussion on the school system by discussing how much harder COVID and wearing masks has made it to detect abuse on kids. Then we get more personal with Areli as we discuss some of the personal challenges she's had to overcome in her life. Areli has a YouTube Channel, she has some great content in the works, be sure to check it out and follow her channel on the link below and thanks for listening! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1VmB_Uun6ryO0EqJfBFtaw
So you know that perspective us parents have right now during covid. Well having this conversation was very helpful because it's not at all what we thought it was. The amount of stress some of these Teachers are feeling is a lot. This is something I've heard before but listening to the experiences directly from Areli who is a Teacher at a public school really helps paint a picture. I remember being the son of immigrants who didn't speak English, the frustration in my parents for not being able to help us with homework, or understand certain things. So that's still going on, plus add the stress of everything being done through technology and some of the parents not being able to use this technology. We definitely thank Areli for taking the time to come out and sharing with us. She does have a youtube channel as well, follow the link below to check out her videos and don't forget to follow! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1VmB_Uun6ryO0EqJfBFtaw

Cancel Culture is everywhere in our society now days. We see it in Hollywood, the news, schools, private companies, organizations. Most times we see the perspective of it attacking churches but never things about Churches canceling people for not thinking the way we do. How much is this really happening in the church though? We also discuss what life with COVID has been and how it's affected the church and we talk about what we think the future will look like. Pastor Ivan is one of the Pastors/Churches that I've seen take advantage of Social Media, adding posts in Instagram, Facebook and even TikTok. And Pastor Ivan does not get discouraged by the voices trying to tell him he's doing things wrong. He tells us about some of those things he's doing. Below are links to his social media pages for those who want to check it out as well as Hope City's pages which is the church we're teamed up with to do this channel. Something no person should ever have to experience, specially kids, unfortunately something that happens way too often. Why is it so hard for the victim to speak up? Are there hints to look for? Is there hope after this? What can I do if I'm experiencing this? Jane goes through these and more questions on this conversation and gives us a lot of information on how to overcome and reach out for help for anyone going through this or who has experienced it. SIDE NOTE: We are not professional Doctors and anyone experiencing these abuses should definitely reach out and speak with a professional. During the Thanks giving holiday we're thankful for many things, family, friends, jobs, our house and many other things. But there's a trend that's been growing for the past few years now which is to take our freedoms for granted. We feel oppressed by the system, or feel that it's unfair. Gaby talks to us about her experience living in Cuba under Castro's regime and it immediately made me appreciate our freedoms here a lot more. Join us as we discuss life in Cuba. Education, food, medical industry, the church, socialism and how it all began and how easily our freedoms can be gone.
Disfruten!
10 years from now, will you look back and say "I wasted 10 years of my life avoiding situations because I made other people so important, that I threw away a decade of my potential. What can be more tragic and frightening than that?" - Matthew HusseyWe discuss why it's easy to encourage others, yet we put our plans and purpose on hold because of so many reasons which include fear, procrastination, lack of discipline and many others.

We discuss a lot of the issues we're seeing now days. Why a Christian can be Democrat or Republican but not compromise their faith. This is a very divisive time, seems like we're ok with loosing long time friends and relationships with family members because of politics. Pastors Juan and Nancy discuss some common issues, how Jesus dealt with the culture in his time (which was just as if not more divisive than now) and they have some advice for us.
