Description
In Baltimore, Maryland, an elite group of plainclothes officers called the Gun Trace Task Force gets hundreds of illegal guns off the streets every year. Secretly, however, these detectives are also robbing people, selling drugs, planting evidence and framing innocent people. When some of the officers go too far, it triggers an FBI investigation that reveals the Gun Trace Task Force as one of the most corrupt police squads in American policing history. Jessica Lussenhop tells the story of the rise and fall of this once-powerful unit of officers, and its leader Sergeant Wayne Jenkins. And she asks: why do good cops go bad?

Podcast is put together crappy, certain parts of the story that are very interesting are not stressed and just washed over, just an all-around bad podcast format
Arrgghh!! Seriously ffs he barely takes responsibility for anything! He's a super cop running an elite task force but couldn't pick who he worked with?!? "They" were terrible and I reported them to my supervisors but it all got ignored... yea right!! Oh and I did steal *some* drugs, just not lots of drugs and I had no idea that the officers under my direct command were stealing so much money. It was everyone else, not me!! Plus I never hurt anyone and did it all for my kids anyway. 🤯🤯🤯
A whole week to wait...grrrrr! I keep getting sucked into podcasts that drop weekly eps when I just want to hear everything NOW! A lesson in practising patience and embracing delayed gratification. *deeeeep breath*
Interesting that this is being made by the BBC and not one of the American news services. Just saying.....
