Now that new polls show Biden way behind in 5 out of 6 swing states, the center is coming out swinging at progressives, looking for someone to blame. Kate breaks down what Hillary Clinton, Jonathan Chait, and so many others get wrong about the left. Subscribe to Bad Faith on YouTube for video of this episode. The candidate also discusses her recent arrest at a campus protest, new developments in Gaza, including the invasion of Rafah and Biden's disappearing "red line”; and how the Green Party plans to be competitive in 2024 against the two major parties and the well-funded RFK Jr. campaign. Dr. Stein also talks ballot access, consolidating the left vote, Dr. West's criticism of the Green Party's racial platform, and more. He provides context for the protest, how the risk of community outrage helped the students achieve success, and weighs in on the current wave of university protests and the consequences facing his own students at Fordham today. Naison also just happens to be a terrific storyteller who opens the ep by describing how he ended up in one of the most enduring Chappelle's Show segments and what it was like to have Lana Del Ray in his class. Are leftists simply angry that they can't control where Taibbi's interests have taken his reporting? Or has Taibbi taken a reactionary approach in response to bad faith attacks from liberals -- and, if so, is he justified? Is the left correct in mourning that, these days, his ample skills are rarely applied to issues that concern the left? Is it fair to accuse him of falling victim to audience capture? Or is Taibbi right that it's important to focus on criticizing liberals because they are, in fact, more dangerous and hold more institutional power than the right? Does defending domestic workers have to come at the expense of immigrants? And does the shift on this issue reflect a larger rightward shift among online left commentators? The conversation broadens to include a debate on whether labor is disempowered by endorsing Biden, the efficacy of the Squad/DSA's electoral strategy, and whether labor organizing can be successful in the absence of true American labor party. Subscribe to Bad Faith on Patreon to instantly unlock our full premium episode library: http://patreon.com/badfaithpodcast Unlike in 2020 & 2016, a prescriptive progressive economic agenda hasn't been thrust into mainstream consideration this election cycle. Rather, any talk of the economy has largely centered around questions of inflation: whether Biden is or isn't making it better, and whether leftists are overstating the cost of living struggles of working people. This week, Professor of Economics at SUNY-Cortland Steve Maher joins Bad Faith to assert a positive economic vision for the left, how to defeat globalization, and whether or not right-populists have gotten anything right in these regards -- if only rhetorically. We also debate the value of left electoralism, whether "fraud squad" is a fair charge, and the limits of labor militancy. Subscribe to Bad Faith on YouTube for video of this episode. Subscribe to Bad Faith on Patreon to instantly unlock this episode and our entire premium episode library: http://patreon.com/badfaithpodcast    Electronic Intifada's Ali Abunimah joins Bad Faith to break down the latest in what some are calling the "mass rape hoax" -- a series of articles and reports that claim to prove a mass rape campaign occurred on October 7th based on circumstantial evidence and a few witnesses with significant credibility issues. Ali walks us through last week's report by UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General Pramila Patten, which claims to hold "convincing information" that Hamas raped Israeli hostages. But with no interviews with alleged victims, and no identifying information about alleged witnesses, does the report tell us anything new? And if the most conclusive findings of the report are to cast doubt several rape claims, why was it reported by the New York Times as uncovering new "evidence" -- at least before they walked back their headline? And if Patten admits she did not conduct an "investigation," what does it claim to prove? But first, Ali gives an update on what's been happening this last week in Gaza, including an update on the horrific flour massacre.  Subscribe to Bad Faith on YouTube to access our full video library. That was disturbing. I'd never heard Kyle before, and his constant cursing and belittling of Brianna Gray was misogynistic mansplaining and verbal intimidation. The 30-second silence at about 41:00 after his little rant said so much.

Cirincione is the only "catastophe" here. A stumbling, fumbling, incoherent, irrational mess, if I ever heard one. He exposed himself as nothing but a mindless, blue-anon, hypocrite and a useful idiot for the military industrial complex. lol. I dont know how someone can be a neocon and an antiwar activists at the same time, but somehow Cirincione is pulling it off. Talk about cognitive dissonance.

I'm not sure I've ever been more disappointed in a political guest who had the right motive but refuses to recognize the corruption of the Democratic party... and I'm not sure I've ever been as proof of a host, like BJG for pushing back and at least suggesting that this party and independent of the only way to go. the Democrats get away with their electoral Cruces precisely because of people like Zogby who will never leave them. once enough people do and they truly start losing and practicing, ONLY then will changes be made to appease the left. I'd heard great things about Bad Faith but the ACTUAL podcast exceeded even those expectations. WTG BJG!
