To honor his memory we are rereleasing episode 93 featuring former NFL Pro Bowler, Nick Mangold who joined us to talk barbecue and football. On the same episode we had former MLB pitcher, Jerry Reuss who pitched in the Major Leagues for 22 years. Nick Mangold played center in the National Football League for 11 years as a member of the New York Jets, was a seven time Pro Bowl selection and considered by many to be one of the best at his position.  He also makes one heck of a BBQ sauce and is determined to have his sauce take its place among the finest and most well known names on store shelves everywhere.  The passion with which he played football is the same passion he gives Seventy Four BBQ (74 BBQ), which are the line-up of sauces he is rolling out.  We had fun speaking with Nick regarding his playing career and how he transformed from a home kitchen sauce maker into a sauce king who is managing to make others take notice as he puts out a superb tasting product. What does family planning and a beard have to do with 74 BBQ?  Listen and you will find out. Jerry Reuss pitched for 22 years in the Major Leagues, finishing his career with 220 wins and a World Series Championship as a member of the 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers.  Along the way, he pitched a no-hitter, amassed 1,907 strikeouts, a 3.64 ERA, and was a two-time All Star.  He is the author of the book, Bring in the Right Hander, a well-known prankster, and appeared with some of his 1981 World Serious Champion Dodgers on the television show, Solid Gold as they sang “We are the Champions.”  22 years in the Major Leagues does not go by without having a few stories, and we were glad to listen to as many as Jerry would tell We recommend you go to Rogue Cookers website, https://roguecookers.com/ for award-winning rubs, Baseball BBQ, https://baseballbbq.com for special grilling tools and accessories, Magnechef https://magnechef.com/ for excellent and unique barbecue gloves, Cutting Edge Firewood High Quality Kiln Dried Firewood - Cutting Edge Firewood in Atlanta for high quality firewood and cooking wood, Mantis BBQ, https://mantisbbq.com/ to purchase their outstanding sauces with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Kidney Project, and for exceptional sauces, Elda's Kitchen https://eldaskitchen.com/ We truly appreciate our listeners and hope that all of you are staying safe.
