Broadcast info: Glory to God! We welcome you to this BlogTalk Radio Podcast by Memphis Covenant Faith Church. My name is Pastor Helen Price. As we begin today’s podcast I pray that God’s grace, mercy and compassion will abound greatly on behalf of you and all of your loved ones and that God Himself this day will meet you and yours at the point of your need, whatever that need might be. During this 2020 pandemic and serious time of social unrest, and whatever year it is that you are listening, God wants to encourage every single believer to build our faith in the Greatness and the Power of the Mercy of God! Recently with the death of the young jogging Black man Ahmaud Arbery, along with the world wide outcry because of the knee on the neck death of George Floyd, who cried out for his Momma and the recent egregious death of the gentle soul,  the 23 year old Black man Elijah McClain, who would visit the animal shelter to play his violin to calm the cats there. Ones who are believers in Jesus Christ and others are asking what can we do? How can we help?  One of the answers to those questions can be found as we look at several aspects of God's Mercy. During this time, we also want to make sure that we are on the right side of God's great and powerful mercy. Let us go to our two key scriptures for this series of messages. The first scripture is Psalm 145:8-9 which answers the question why does God heal, deliver, prosper, rescue and meet us  at the point of our need. Psalm 145:8-9 says The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works. In the Old & New Testament the Hebrew & Greek word for compassion is the same word used for mercy. So when we read about the mercy of God, it is talking about the compassion of God. It is very important that we get a good understanding of the mercy and compassion of God and of His willingness to move on our behalf, then we will not hesitate to do what our 2nd key scripture Hebrews 4:16 says, Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We can come boldly to God’s throne of Grace to obtain mercy and compassion first and then find the grace to help in time of need. In this introduction to the message on the Greatness and the power of the Mercy of God, we need to understand from the beginning that God is good to all, however there are actions and situations that will cause God’s mercy, His compassion to be activated swiftly. That is why it is very important that We stay on the right side of God’s mercy and compassion.  Let us look at several examples where God’s tender mercy and compassion is activated swiftly. It is during these times when God reveals Himself as the Lord of Hosts, the Captain of the armies of God who is strong and mighty in battle. God’s mercy and compassion is swiftly and greatly activated 1) When people cry out to God-Exodus 22:23 2) When justice is needed against injustice.Isaiah 30:18 3) Money will cry out to God-James 5:4 4) Land will cry out to God! Job 31:38-40 5) Walls, rafters (woodwork) will cry out to God, Habakkuk 2:11 6) Gates will cry out to God-- Isaiah 3:26 7) The roads and streets will cry out to God- Lamentations 1:4 8) The dust under our feet will cry out to God- Luke 9:5 9) Blood will cry out to God- Genesis 4:10, Hebrews 12:24 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
I want to Welcome you to this Blog Talk Radio Podcast. My name is Pastor Helen Price, Pastor of Memphis Covenant Faith Church. Today we will begin our 1st Boot camp Episode of Basic Training for Soldiers of the Living God Introduction: In the word of God We have an identity package in Christ Jesus that includes the Bible fact that We are soldiers of the living God-- 2 Timothy 2:3-4 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Amplified Bible-Take with me your share of hardship [passing through the difficulties which you are called to endure], like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. NKJV No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. 1 Corinthians 9:7 No soldier goes to warfare at his own expense--Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink the milk?  In Basic Training in the United States armed forces soldiers must be trained and become familiar with the following: Who is their Commander in Chief, who are the officers and enlisted ranks, what are their General Orders as a soldier, what is The Soldier’s Creed, General Orders, Code of Conduct & Soldier’s Code. They must be trained in who they are now that they are soldiers. They must be trained in their weapons (Example M-16A2 rifle) and they must learn the dress codes and be dressed properly etc. We too as Christian soldiers in the army of the Lord must be trained and know who our Commander in Chief is, we must be trained in our spiritual identity, trained in who our enemy is, trained in the weapons of our warfare, trained in what to put off and what to put on (the whole armor of the Lord Ephesians 6:11) This message is so important because we need to be reminded and to build our faith in the Bible fact that God wants us to be good soldiers in His army, so that we may please Him who has called us to be a soldier, with this purpose in mind that we may be able to stand and to withstand all of the tactics, maneuvers, wiles, methods and plans of the enemy.  We must know who our Commander in Chief is. We will follow Jesus Christ. **When we become Christians Jesus Christ is our Commander in Chief in the army of the Lord, He is the Great Head of the Church-Ephesians 1:22 & 5:23 who gives us His Divine Commission & backs us as we go. JESUS IS THE CAPTAIN OF OUR SALVATION & the CAPTAIN OF OUR FAITH. Hebrews 2:10, Hebrews 12:2 As soldiers in the army of the Lord, It is so very important that we become very intimately acquainted with our God our Commander in Chief. Why is this so important God does not want us to worry or be fretful about anything-No matter what it is As we end this broadcast today if you have not given your heart and life to Jesus Christ, if you are not saved or born again, if you have not yet been enlisted into the army of the Lord, Remember that the word of God says in Romans 10:13 Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. This Day if you are not sure of your salvation say this prayer with me “Lord Jesus I ask you into my heart and life, I repent of all my sins and I do believe that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God and that God raised you from the dead. I give my heart and life to you. Now if you prayed that prayer, according to Acts 20:32 I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are set apart in Jesus Christ. Welcome to the army of the Lord God Bless each and every one of you!  Lastly if you would like to be a blessing to this ministry and sow a special seed our cash app is $GlorytoGod39. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today’s message is “How Crying Out To God & The Justice of God are vitally connected to the Mercy of God!” Children of God it is so important to remember that the mercy, the compassion of God is greatly activated when ones cry out to God and when Justice is needed. We need to know that we are not in this world alone. This means whatever situation we are encountering and facing, that we are not in this alone. We have a God Who sits high and yet has regard for the lowly. During this pandemic &  the serious social unrest and other things that we may be personally facing in our own life, we must remember and trust that Almighty God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in it, knows and sees every single thing that is going on. Lets camp there for a few moments. Proverbs 15:3 says “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 says For the eyes of the LORD roam to and fro over all the earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is fully devoted to Him… Hebrews 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight; everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Jeremiah 23:24 "Can a man hide in secret places where I cannot see him?" declares the LORD. "Do I not fill the heavens and earth?" declares the LORD. Daniel 2:22 He reveals the deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with Him. God has so many eyes that are observing every single situation that goes on here on earth. Ezekiel 1:18 The rims of the four wheels were tall and frightening, and they were covered with eyes all around. Ezekiel 10: 12 Both the cherubim and the wheels were covered with eyes. The cherubim had eyes all over their bodies, including their hands, their backs, and their wings. Revelation 4:6 & 8 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts (the cherebims) full of eyes before and behind. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Zech 4:9-10 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundations of this house, and his hands will finish it. Thus you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. For whoever has scorned such a day of small things will rejoice to see the capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel. “These seven are the eyes of the Lord that range over the whole earth.” Zechariah 4:9-10 After that, the Word of God came to me: “Zerubbabel started rebuilding this Temple and he will complete it. That will be your confirmation that God-of-the-Angel-Armies (ie The Lord of Hosts)  sent me to you. Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings? They’ll change their tune when they see Zerubbabel setting the last stone in place!” Going back to the vision, the Messenger-Angel said, “The seven lamps are the eyes of God probing the dark corners of the world like searchlights.” Revelation 5:5-6 Then I saw a Lamb that looked as if it had been slaughtered, but it was now standing between the throne and the four living beings and among the twenty-four elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the sevenfold Spirit of God that is sent out into every part of the earth. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we are continuing to focus on the Mercy, The Compassion of the Lord. The Mercy of the Lord is so very vast that we could minister about it for a year and still not do it justice because the mercy of the Lord is woven throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Thus far we have learned that the Mercy of God and Compassion of God are from the same Hebrew and Greek words.  So that when we see the Mercy of God we know it to also be the compassion of God. The Mercy of God is also  the lovingkindness, willingness and the forgiveness of God.  We have learned that the Mercy and Compassion of God is a part of God’s character, His nature and His ways.  We saw in the New Testament that when Jesus Christ was moved with compassion, He raised the dead, healed the sick, fed the multitude and taught the people.  Remember that The mercy of God is like a two edged sword. It cuts and moves with vengeance on behalf of those who have been done wrong and against those who have done the wrong.  In Podcast 42 which was our last regular podcast, we learned that Jewish boys from an early age build their faith and trust in the Mercy, the Compassion, the lovingkindness, willingness and the forgiveness of God.  Kind David was one who also learned early about the mercy of God.   He wrote in the 23rd Psalm  v. 6 “ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”  King David knew that  God’s mercy was activated when  forgiveness is needed and when ones fast, repent & humble themselves and when ones turn away from sin and to God.  King David in one particular instance,  attempted to touch God and His mercy by praying to him,  fasting and by laying on the ground for 7 days after he sinned with Bathsheba,  but it did not work because King David had committed an egregious sin  and to whom much is given much is also required.  Let’s look at this today in 2 Samuel  Chapters 11-12 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support

Today we will begin to focus on the compassion and mercy of the Lord. Last week we saw that because of the mercy and compassion of God that He met the healing and spiritual needs of His people. How great is that?! Our key verses for this series of messages is Psalm 145:8-9 It says “The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works.” Again, It is very important that we get a good understanding of the mercy and compassion of God and of His willingness to move on our behalf, then we will not hesitate to do what Hebrews 4:16 says, we will come boldly to God’s throne of Grace to obtain mercy and compassion first and then find the grace to help in time of need. God wants us to build our faith, our trust and reliance in His mercy, His Compassion. Remember that in the Old & New Testament the Hebrew & Greek word for compassion is the same word used for mercy. So when we read about the mercy of God, it is talking about the compassion of God. My youngest daughter who is now in her 20’s was homeschooled under a public homeschool program called K12. They gave her a computer of her own and all of the supplies she would need. For accountability and social interaction we were required to meet at the Grove’s Barnes and Noble, when we lived in Los Angeles. I was amazed to learn and see that most of the homeschooled children who met with us were young Jewish boys. They told us they were trained first in the things of God for a few hours and then did their public homeschool work. One of the most important and special things that each of the Jewish boys learn even as a young child is to pray. They begin to learn to pray the Shema Prayer 2 times a day, in the morning when they awaken and at night when they go to bed. One of the most important things they learn in prayer is about the mercy, the compassion of the Lord. In the Shema they also pray three Blessing prayers. The first blessing prayer in part says: Praised are you, Lord our God….You illumine the world and its creatures with mercy; in Your goodness, day after day You renew Creation. How manifold Your works, O Lord; …..Eternal God, with Your manifold mercies continue to love us, our Pillar of strength, protective Rock, sheltering Shield, sustaining Stronghold. In the second Blessing prayer, it is called Revelation and says “Deep is Your love for us, Lord our God, boundless Your tender compassion. You taught our ancestors life-giving laws. They trusted in You, our Father and King. For their sake graciously teach us, Father, merciful Father, show us mercy; grant us discernment and understanding.” Those young Jewish boys learn and are taught about the merciful, compassionate goodness of the Lord from an early age. We too need to learn, be taught and build our faith, our trust and reliance in The Mercy and Compassion of the Lord our God! As we end this broadcast today, May you continue to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and may His standard of excellence be set in every area of your life. Remember that the word of God says in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. This Day if you are not sure of your salvation, Please say with me “Lord Jesus I ask you to come into my heart and life, I do believe that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God and that God raised you from the dead. I repent of all my sins. I give my heart and life to you. Lord I ask you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to baptize and fill me to overflowing with Your Precious Holy Spirit and with power to witness, serve & to love. Now if you prayed that prayer with me, according to Acts 20:32 I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are set apart in Jesus Christ. God Bless each and every one of you today! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Glory to God! We welcome you to Podcast 41 of Setting the Standard of God’s Excellence in our lives. My name is Pastor Helen Price. As we begin today’s podcast I pray that God’s grace, mercy and compassion will abound greatly on behalf of you and your loved ones and that God Himself this day will meet you and yours at the point of your need, whatever that need might be. In the last few podcasts our key verse of study has been 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 where we are exhorted to remember that The Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Today we want to focus and build our faith in the compassion and mercy of God! It is very important that we get a good understanding of the mercy and compassion of God and of His willingness to move on our behalf, then we will not hesitate to do what Hebrews 4:16 says, we will come boldly to God’s throne of Grace to obtain mercy and compassion first and then find the grace to help in time of need. We saw previously in Luke 7:12-13 when Jesus came upon the funeral of a widow’s only son, the word of God says that He had compassion on the widow and raised her son from the dead. Then in Matthew 9:36 When Jesus saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted and were helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. In Matthew 14:14 Again When Jesus saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick. In Matthew 20:34 Two blind men cried out to Jesus, He had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed Him. In Mark 1:40-41 A man with leprosy came to Jesus and begged Him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." Again Jesus was moved with compassion and reached out His hand and touched the man. He told him "I am willing," "Be clean!" And the leper was healed immediately. In Mark 6:34 When Jesus came and saw a large crowd, He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. Because of His compassion, His mercy, He began teaching them many things. In Mark 8:2 Jesus said “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat: ” It was here because of His compassion, that He miraculously fed the multitude. In Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartemaeus is famously known as one who persistently cried out “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” The people around him told Bartemaeus to shut up, to hold his peace but he continued to cry out “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” Jesus stood still, called Bartemaeus to Him and asked him what did he want. He told Jesus he wanted to see. Jesus said unto him, “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” We see that because of the mercy and compassion of God, He meets the healing and spiritual needs of His people. How great is that?! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
In the last few podcasts, We have looked at several examples of how The Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Today let us focus on two more examples and their differences. One is about a little girl who was sick, died & raised to life and the second is about a woman who had been sick a long time & was healed. Mark 5:22-42 says And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw Him, he fell at his feet, And besought Him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay Thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. And Jesus went with him; and much people followed Him, and thronged Him. And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched His garment. For she said, If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that virtue (power) had gone out of Him, turned Him about in the press, and said, Who touched My clothes? And His disciples said unto Him, Thou seest the multitude thronging Thee, and sayest Thou, Who touched Me? And He looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth. And He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. While He yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. And He suffered no man to follow Him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. And He cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. And when He was come in, He saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with Him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And He took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. Again today, let us remember to Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit and truly know that He can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
On our last podcast we looked at two more examples of how the Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Let us look at a few more examples. In Matthew 8:1-3; & Mark 1:40-42 After preaching the "Sermon on the Mount" Jesus came down the hillside followed by a large crowd. A leper approached Him, knelt before Him worshiping, and asked Jesus, "if You want to, You can heal me". Jesus touched the man, and said to him "I want to, be healed". And instantly the leper was healed. Then in John 4:46-54 A royal official, who had a sick son in Capernaum, heard that Jesus had traveled to the town of Cana. The official went to Cana and asked Jesus to go to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die. Jesus told the man that his son would live. The man believed Jesus and left Cana. While the official was returning to Capernaum, his servants met him on the way and told him that his son was alive and that the son's fever had gone away at 1 p.m. the day before. The man realized that that was the same time that Jesus had told him that his son would live. In Matthew 9:27-31 There were Two blind men who followed Jesus, crying loudly, "Have mercy on us, Son of David!" Jesus said to them "Do you believe I am able to do this?" They said to Him "Yes, Lord." Then He touched their eyes and said "According to your faith let it be done to you." And their eyes were opened. One of the questions Jesus is asking us today: “Do you believe I am able to do this?” When we do, we will not be anxious, nor will we worry or fret! Again today, these were very different ways that each one received their healings. This is so important so that we will remember to Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit and truly know that He can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
On our last podcast we focused on 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 We are exhorted by God to remember the Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. We saw how our Precious Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was moved by the Precious Holy Spirit in different ways to meet the needs of God’s people. In the last podcast John 9:1-41 tells us about a man who was born blind. Jesus spat on the ground, made mud with His saliva and spread the mud on the man's eyes, and told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. The man did this and was able to see. Then In John 5:5-17 Jesus saw a man who had been sick for 38 long years, laying by the pool of Bethesda. Jesus did not touch him or take him by the hand but he told the man "Stand up, take your mat and walk." The man was made well at once, and he took up his mat and began to walk. Today we will look at another 2 examples. In Mark 8:22-26 there was in Bethsaida some people who brought a blind man to Jesus and he begged Jesus to touch him. Jesus took the blind man out of the village. He put saliva on the man's eyes and touched the man. Jesus asked the man if he could see. The man answered he could see people but they looked like trees walking around. Then Jesus put his hands on his eyes again, and the man's sight was restored and he saw everything clearly. Then in Luke 7:11-17 As Jesus was coming into the town of Nain, the only son of a widow died and was being carried out. When Jesus saw this He had mercy and compassion for the widow and told her not to weep. He then touched the bier and said "Young man, I say to you, rise!" The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother. There are many more examples that we will look at so that we will Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit and truly know that He can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Last week we emphasized that we must Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit!! This message is so important because, we must remember that The Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Let’s look again at 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 which says Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. To better understand this verse, let’s look at it in the Living Bible where we see that the diversities of gifts are the special abilities given to us by God. The differences of administrations are the different kinds of service God gives us to do. The diversities of operations are the many ways in which God works in our lives. The manifestation of the Spirit is when The Precious Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church. Jesus Christ our Precious Lord and Saviour is the greatest example of how the Precious Holy Spirit moved thru Him in different ways to meet the needs of God’s people. In John 9:1-41 There was a man who was blind from birth. In this case, Jesus spat on the ground, made mud with the saliva and spread the mud on the man's eyes, and told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. The man did this and was able to see. In John 5:5-17 there is another example where Jesus saw a man who had been ill for 38 years, laying by the pool of Bethesda. Jesus did not touch him or take him by the hand but he told the man "Stand up, take your mat and walk." The man was made well at once, and he took up his mat and began to walk. These were two different diverse ways that these two men received their healings.
Today I am Celebrating my 36th Pastoral Anniversary-IHS-In His Service- Glory to God! At this time of year on October 22, I celebrate and give honor to God for choosing and calling me to the Gospel ministry as a pastor for the last 36 years. I wrote a special testimony note 9 years ago on October 22, 2009 to commemorate that date. 3 years ago, I reposted the testimony as I am doing today. I pray that it may be a blessing for someone who is also IHS. In His Service, In the service of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. My first call was as an evangelist in March of 1980. I have been 38 years in ministry. As an evangelist, the Lord has blessed me to travel in ministry around the world to Hawaii, Tokyo, Japan, Hong Kong, India, Germany, London, Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Florida and all across the USA ministering the very good news of Jesus Christ, my Saviour, Lord and my God. I am led today to share the testimony of my call to the pastoral ministry. I was asked in 1982 to do a two week revival at a church in Los Angeles. I was led by the Lord to anchor the revival and to minister on each Friday. I asked 8 other ministers to assist me in the revival with each minister having one day of the revival to minister. The ministers and I gathered at my home to pray concerning that up and coming revival. We were praying in other tongues. I went to a corner in my living room and was just praying when the ceiling got my attention. The ceiling appeared to open up and I could see into the sky. There was an open bible coming down from heaven. I didn't hear anything until the open bible touched my stomach and I heard these booming words. "This day I've called you to be a pastor". I was shocked. No one around me seemed to know what was happening to me. They were still praying. I sat down on my couch in my living room and said " Oh no" I don't want to be a pastor. I had been an evangelist for two years by this time. I loved being an evangelist. I said "Lord I will walk off and leave your people" The Lord said to me "Helen, if you be willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land. It is not enough for you to be obedient to me, but you must be willing to be a pastor" I sat troubled and thought about what I was hearing and then I said "Yes Lord". Immediately, I felt as if some one placed their hand around my heart and turned it and then I heard "This day, I have given you a pastor's heart to love and care for my people" That has been now 36 years ago today and that touch from God has made all the difference in the world. I learned that there is a great difference between being a pastor and an evangelist. I have been challenged because I am a woman pastor, but I remember in the word of God in Numbers 22:21-34 how God opened the mouth of a jackass or donkey and used it to save a man's life. Now I don't equate myself or any woman called to the ministry to a jackass or donkey, however, if God will use an animal to save a man's life, how much more will He use a woman. I also stand on the word that says in Joel 2:28-29" And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. "This was also found in Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel:17-18 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
#PastorHelenPricePodcast36 - Diversities (Differences) of gifts, but the same Holy Spirit Diversities of Gifts Last week we looked at 5 Wonderful Benefits of speaking in other tongues 1. We found that When we speak with other tongues we speak unto God and we speak mysteries. That is found in 1 Corinthians 14: 2 2. We edify and build ourselves up when we pray with other tongues-This is found in 1 Cor. 14:4 & Jude 1:20 3. Tongues with interpretation of tongues builds up the church. This is found in 1 Corinthians 14:5 4. Tongues are a sign to unbelievers This is found in 1 Corinthians 14:22 5. The Precious Holy Spirit prays and intercedes through us, for us and others as we pray in other tongues. This is found in Romans 8:26-27 & 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 Today we want to emphasize that we must Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit!! The Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Let us look at 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 which says Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. Those same verses in The Voice translation says “Now there are many kinds of grace gifts, but they are all from the same Spirit. There are many different ways to serve, but they’re all directed by the same Lord. There are many amazing working gifts in the church, but it is the same God who energizes them all--- in all who have the gifts. Each believer has received a gift that manifests the Spirit’s power and presence. That gift is given for the good of the whole community.” Remember that we must Never Get Stuck On One Move or Operation of the Precious Holy Spirit! The Precious Holy Spirit can and will move in many different ways to meet the healing and spiritual needs of the people of God. Prayerfully we will look at several examples of the different ways of how the Precious Holy Spirit moves. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we will look at some of the wonderful benefits of speaking in other tongues. Last week we saw that one of the first benefits of speaking in an unknown tongue is found in 1 Corinthians 14: 2 This first benefit is pretty straight forward. It says “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” Someone referred to speaking in other tongues as our Heavenly language where we can speak special to God and God speaks special to us. Another benefit is found in 1 Cor. 14:4 it says “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” The word edify means to build up. When we pray in other tongues we ourselves are built up and strengthened, especially when we are tired or weary. Jude 1:20 says But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. The third benefit is that Tongues with interpretation of tongues edifys and builds up the church. 1 Corinthians 14:5 says “I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.” The fourth benefit is that Tongues are a sign to unbelievers. 1 Corinthians 14:22 says Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers. The fifth benefit is such an awesome great benefit- The Precious Holy Spirit prays and intercedes through us, for us and others as we pray in other tongues. Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what to pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings whhic canot be uttered. And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. So let us remember some of the wonderful benefits of speaking in other tongues 1. When we speak in other tongues we speak unto God and we speak mysteries in our Heavenly language. 2. We edify and build ourselves up 3. Tongues with interpretation of tongues builds up the church. 4. Tongues are a sign to unbelievers 5. The Precious Holy Spirit prays and intercedes through us, for us and others as we pray in other tongues. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Speaking in other tongues has been so very important, vital and needful to me in my walk as a Christian and in the work of the ministry. We were instructed by our Pastor G.W. Robinson and by his wife Zerlease, to pray every day in other tongues. My first few words were A Chaela Makea. In John 7:36 it says “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” I knew others whose tongues flowed easily like that living water. One day as I was on my knees praying in other tongues, I went from A Chaela Makea and began to flow fluently. What a great blessing this was. One of the first benefits of speaking in an unknown tongue is found in 1 Corinthians 14: 2 "For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." Speaking in an unknown tongue is also called "Our Heavenly Language" --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we will continue with the last part of the introduction to the benefits of speaking with other tongues . Remember that Speaking with other tongues is very important, valuable and needful in our daily lives and in the work of the ministry. We saw that each time in the word when ones were baptized and filled with the Precious Holy Spirit they spoke with other tongues. (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:45-47 & Acts 19:1-6) Also The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:18 “I thank my God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.” However, we learned that altho speaking with other tongues is an important evidence of being filled with the Precious Holy Spirit it is not the only evidence. We saw very clearly in 1 Corinthians 13:1-2 that “Though we speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, we would become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. In other words, we would just be making a lot of noise. True Evidence: A great love for God, His people & His program --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we will cover only the introduction to the benefits of speaking with other tongues. Speaking in other tongues is such a significant and vital instrument in ministry and in our walk in God. I read where Oral Roberts prayed in the spirit and God gave him how to build Oral Roberts University. As hammers, screwdrivers and wrenches are special tools used for specific purposes, so speaking with other tongues is a needful, necessary tool in our daily lives and for the work of the ministry. The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:18 “I thank my God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we will look at The Third scriptural way to receive the Baptism with the Precious Holy Spirit. It is called The Sovereign outpouring of the Precious Holy Spirit. This word is so unique and special because it means Supreme, ruling reigning & independent. The word sovereign “Is a God thing”. The Sovereign outpouring is where God poured out His Precious Holy Spirit without ones asking or having hands laid on them. We see an example of this in Acts 10:44-47 which says “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we are looking at the 3 Scriptural ways to receive the precious Holy Spirit. The first Is by Asking, The second is by The Laying on of hands And the third is By the Sovereign outpouring of the Precious Holy Spirit. We will look at the first two today. The first scriptural way to receive the Precious Holy Spirit is By asking Luke 11:9-13 says “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he give him a snake? Or if he asks for an egg, will he give him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
Today we are doing a summary with scriptures of the attributes of the Precious Holy Spirit. You will notice that the Precious Holy Spirit is called “He and not it”. Remember there are times when we receive a gift and are not quite sure how the gift works. This is why it is so important that we understand and remember who the Precious Holy Spirit is and what He will do for us. Acts 2:38 says He's a gift Who must be received. Then in Acts 2:39, Joel 2:28-29:, Acts 2:17-18 it says that the Precious Holy Spirit is called the Promise. In the last days God promised that He would pour out His Spirit on all people. He said, Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastorhelenprice/support
