Mouyyad, Johnathan & Rob are back for the 4th episode of the Basketball bros. We're now 30 games into the season, and we have parity in the west as only 5 games separate 1st and 10th place. The bros give their anaylses on teams, players, drama and rumors before diving into social issues, social media as well as an in-depth anaylsis of LeBron's famous program "The Decision" 8 years later. Is holding the decision against LeBron, racist? The bros discuss it. Johnathan has teased out a new segment and finally the world sees the latest in NBA fun, "Who He Sponsor?!" where Johnathan names NBA teams and Mouyyad and Rob struggle to name which brands sponsor their jerseys. Are NBA jersey sponsorships effective? To close the episode, the bros talk about part 4 of the Jimmy Butler chronicles, and whether or not his presence (11-3 at time of recording) makes the Sixers legit in the East.
The Basketball Bros are back to dish on topics from around the NBA and yes, even a little blurb at the end on the Basketball Bros perspective on College Basketball. This episode covers biggest surprises from the start of the NBA season, breaking down the Eastern and Western Conferences as well as getting into standout players, trades and Rookies. The Bros then have a heated debate on whether the Golden State Warriors are in any real trouble following the Kevin Durant and Draymond Green drama. The conversation then shifts to marketing, where the bros talk about marketing campaigns turned feature films, namely Space Jam and Uncle Drew and the reason the NBA has access to Hollywood compared to other sports. We even talk about how an athlete's political stance can make you love or hate them. Finishing out the discussion with College Basketball breakdown of culture, top programs and innovation by companies like New Balance are disrupting the amateur basketball landscape.
The bros are back for Episode 2, recorded on opening night of the NBA. Johnathan predicts the Thunder will win the championship, and Rob & Mouyyad collectively roll their eyes. The bros also discuss the PUMA basketball strategy, ask each other whether various endorsements & creative director positions held by athletes & entertainers are celebrity endorsements, or actual collaborations and partnerships--and which is better. They also discuss the continuing Jimmy Butler saga, and ask themselves what they're most looking forward to in the NBA season.
