Description

Hi, I'm Rivky Itzkowitz I’m the founder and designer at Impact Fashion and I’m the host here at Be Impactful, the show about women making an Impact in their own corners of the world. I started Impact Fashion in November of 2016 so that the modest minded women in my community could feel empowered to put their best foot forward every day, regardless of their size. In the process of growing my business I’ve been fortunate enough to connect with women of all different types and from all different fields. And the main lesson I’ve learnt is that we are all just improvising. We’re going around doing the best we can with what we’ve got, feeling self conscious about what everyone else is accomplishing. The truth is, the people who you’re looking over your shoulder at are probably doing the exact same thing to someone else.
So let’s talk about the real nitty gritty in our lives and journeys and lift each other up by being just a bit more open. Join me and my guests as we try to figure out what it means to Be Impactful.

Rivky sits down with Hindy Tauber, a woman who has been dealing with chronic illness since the age of 16. Hindy shares how she felt her life was over when got diagnosed, what it means to pursue a diagnosis and advocate for yourself in medicine, the decision to keep things a secret and how her diagnosis affected her self worth. Hindy in her own words: I have a very interesting life journey. In short; at age 16 I got extremely sick and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and I’ve been on that journey ever since. Then, at age 17 my parents separated. I was an extremely shy and scared to open up type of girl before I got sick, and throughout my journey I’ve learned to open up more and more. I have a lot to say on how that happened and why I did that work, but I’ve become so open that I now have a public Instagram page where I share my journey with chronic illness - a first in the chassidish/heimish community for sure, and a first for Crohn’s in the frum world. @hopeinhindy Click here to join the Impact Fashion Whatsapp Status Click here to see my collection of dresses. I really enjoy these podcasts! they are not too long, but chock full! listening to Rivky and each of her guests is like taking part in a conversation between friends, even if she doesn't really know the person. I find myself wanting to contribute to the conversation with comments. Definitely recommend!
