Special guest Clay Smeltzer is back in the house, and we are talking about the evolutionary growth of man. We have many attributes as a man that might have been beneficial to us in the past, but these built in instincts can become detrimental to us now. It takes awareness and understanding to bust through some of these subconscious behavior patterns.

The only way to change a behavior is to interrupt and change the pattern. We often get stuck into certain behavior cycles because we never noticed them. Changing our cycles and patterns requires us to make a different decision.

"The path to success is to take massive action." Sometimes we can feed ourselves to the point of slumber, and we get addicted to the inspiration instead of getting addicted to action. We have everything we need to live a fulfilled life, but often we fail to put into practice the things that will bring us results. We settle for another book, seminar, podcast or tedtalk, to keep busy. The end result is failure due to lack of action.

We went straight to business as we talked about the meaning of “being a real man”. From Hakeem's perspective, he shared how much he values empathy and how important it is to give more than to take--we all know how hard that can be. Join me on this humbling discussion and let's find out how to improve ourselves and be the man that we aspire to be.

Hakeem Valles reveals his entrepreneurial mindset as he narrates his past business endeavors. Hakeem recalls that his inclination to having a provider-mindset started back when he was in grade school. From being a grass cutter boy, putting ads on craigslist, selling stuff in middle school to being an established icon in the real estate business. From here, Tim challenges you to identify areas in your business which you feel you are lacking. Respond to this challenge by having a provider-mindset, an entrepreneurial mindset.

Tim is once again with Hakeem Valles in this episode of 'Be The King'. This time Hakeem recollects a significant yet a traumatic experience with bandits in Haiti. However, it was surprising that he turned this stressful experience into something that is empowering. Yes, he was greatly affected, but he did not find this as an excuse, rather, he chose to take this painful experience into something powerful. He says that this experience did not cripple him, but it became a turning point in his life. He expresses that it's not that easy, but it takes a lot of empathy to overcome such. In this episode, Tim challenges you to make your trauma, troubles, challenges, hardship and all these painful experiences in life into a powerful driving force. Always consider a painful experience as a powerful motivation.

Tim wants you to know in this episode of ‘Be The King’ that you have to do what is required to be a real king. With that, he invited Hakeem Valles, a former National Football League (NFL) player turned entrepreneur, to make his point that it really takes the right attitude to reach your dreams. In his interview, Hakeem narrates his journey as an NFL player and how discipline, commitment, sacrifice, and effort brought him to where he is now. He enumerates all the actions required of him to carry out in order to attain success. With the desire of Tim to help you be the king like Hakeem, he’ll post challenge after every episode. This time, he wants you to reflect on your willingness to take the extra mile to do what is required. Tim and Hakeem tell you to do what is required to be a king.

I wish I could do this, I wish I could do that… Have you ever heard that B.S. play over and over in your mind? Well, stop wishing and hoping and start creating. Do you ever hear that critical voice in your head that tells you that you’re not good enough? It’s time we call B.S. and refuse to believe the lies. That critical voice preys on our insecurities, it doesn’t play fair. Ground yourself in reality, find evidence of the opposite, and call B.S. The only thing between you and greatness is that critical voice. It’s time to believe the voice of encouragement, to foster it until it’s the loudest of the voices.

Most of us have a negative connotation when it comes to “facing reality”. We tend to focus on areas we need to improve, on what’s “wrong” with us, and embark on a never-ending quest to “fix” ourselves. Tim reminds us that our passions, strengths, and values are all a part of our reality as well. Focus on your strengths, build those up so that they dominate your life and ultimately leave no room for the things that aren’t serving you.

We all know what we need to do, the issue is we want it quick and easy. Tim and Clay are talking about getting your body right, not getting sculpted per se, but feeling healthy.
