ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 13 - Whose Approval Are You After?

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In yesterday's message, Pastor Jerry reminded us that the human need for approval is deep, but God's approval must be our ultimate aim. He walked us through Paul's painful rejection in Jerusalem, showing how Paul remained faithful despite misunderstanding and betrayal. Pastor Jerry emphasized that Paul’s imprisonment led to some of the greatest growth in the early church and the writing of key New Testament letters. He challenged us to recognize how living for others’ approval can compromise our faith and mission. Pastor Jerry encouraged us to root our identity in God's verdict of love and approval rather than the shifting opinions of others. This week, let's stay connected to God’s approval by spending time in prayer, reading Scripture, and surrendering our hearts to Him each day.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. Easter (2025)

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry’s Easter message dives into why the resurrection of Jesus is such a big deal — it’s the foundation of our faith! He talks about the confusion and heartbreak Jesus’ followers felt after the crucifixion, and how Jesus didn’t give up on them, even when they were ready to walk away. It’s a reminder that no matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, hope and redemption are still ours — because the risen King comes looking for us, even when we’ve drifted. It’s an invitation to let His resurrection change everything and step into the new life He’s calling us to.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. Cross Sunday (2025)

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As we approach Easter Sunday, it’s important to reflect on what brought Jesus to the cross in the first place. As Pastor Jerry reminded us on Sunday, even as far back as Genesis 15, God made a covenant with Abraham that He would be faithful to him and his descendants. We broke the covenant through our sin time and time again, and yet, God still held up his end of the bargain. Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross was the ultimate fulfillment of that covenant, and because of that, we could be restored! This Cross Sunday was a powerful reminder of just how much that Jesus endured for you and for me. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 12 - Why God Is Worthy Of Obedience

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Emmanuel talks about the importance of obedience to God's calling, even when it involves discomfort. We see this in Acts 21, where Paul is warned by the Holy Spirit through prophecy that he will face imprisonment in Jerusalem. Despite the warning, Paul chooses to continue his journey, demonstrating his trust in God and commitment to his calling. Through conversation with Tyler Workman (co-founder of Okoa Refuge), we hear about his experiences of facing significant challenges and opposition while serving in Uganda. Despite these difficulties, Tyler emphasizes the importance of obedience to God and the joy found in pursuing His glory. Both Paul and Tyler exemplify a steadfast commitment to their divine missions, trusting in God's faithfulness and prioritizing obedience over personal comfort.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 11 - The Impact of Generosity

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || As Pastor Jerry led us through Acts 20:32-38, he focused on the importance of living with open hands and generous hearts. God's grace is the foundation for a life of humility, gratitude, and selflessness towards others. Using Paul as an example, Pastor Jerry highlighted the value of working hard while also caring for the weak and vulnerable. He reminded us that generosity is a natural response to God's generosity toward us, and that living with open hands, in all aspects of life — work, time, talents, and finances — helps advance the hope and love of Jesus. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 10 - Be On Guard

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Rachel emphasizes the importance of being proactive in our faith by activating our relationship with Jesus and doing the hard inner work required to stand strong against spiritual challenges. She reflects on the early church's commitment to the gospel and encourages us to adopt a "whatever it takes" mindset, even when faced with difficulties. Through the message, we're reminded to spend time in quiet reflection, ask ourselves hard questions, and seek community for accountability, reinforcing the idea that faith is an active pursuit.|| ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 9 - Testifying to the Good News of God's Grace

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE ||Yesterday, Pastor David's message encouraged us to take time to shut off the noise of the world. When there's too much going on around us, it can be difficult to hear God's voice. Because of our Acts reading yesterday, we know that Paul took solitary time to be in tune with what God was saying. God's voice in his life helped him know where to go and who to minister to. In the same way, let's make sure to become still and quiet, listen, and hear what God is speaking to us. || ABOUT BEACH CHURCH || We exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 7 - Counterfeit gods

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In Pastor Jerry’s message, he highlights the significance of the early church's impact on Ephesus, where Paul's teachings challenged the worship of idols. We're reminded that true transformation occurs not just through words, but through how believers live out the love of Jesus, reflecting it in their actions. He warns against idolatry — putting anything created by God in the place of God — and illustrates how people often seek fulfillment in things like wealth, caree...

ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 6 - A Life By God's Power

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Yesterday morning, Pastor Emmanuel explained the dangers of using spiritual gifts for selfish ambitions, as shown by the seven sons of Sceva. While Paul experiences the miraculous power of God, the seven sons try to leverage the name of Jesus for their own gain, only to be humiliated and hurt by a demon. Through this message, we learned that true spiritual authority comes not from human effort or skill, but from being genuinely transformed by God and remaining in His ...

ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 4 - My Life For God’s Glory

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry’s message emphasized the importance of investing in others for God’s glory, using Apollos as an example. Though a gifted teacher, Apollos lacked full understanding of Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection. Priscilla and Aquila, having been mentored by Paul, graciously helped him grow in his faith. Pastor Jerry encourages us to mentor others, noting that our greatest contributions to God’s kingdom often comes through those we invest in. Who is God calling yo...

ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 3 - How to Hear God When We are Overwhelmed

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Yesterday morning, Pastor Emmanuel walked us through Acts 18:12-23. He talked about how we can hear God’s voice during overwhelming times. Life can often feel chaotic, making it hard to discern God’s guidance. Drawing from Paul’s experience, Pastor Emmanuel gave us several practical ways to seek God's voice during the "white noise" of our everyday life. The message encouraged us to stay grounded in God’s truth, trusting His faithfulness and the support of those around...

ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 2 - When God Is On The Move

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor Jerry walked us through Acts 18, where Paul faced both opposition and breakthrough in Corinth. We saw how Paul didn’t give up when things got hard — he trusted God’s presence, protection, and promises to keep moving forward. This was all so people close to him could encounter Jesus! Pastor Jerry reminded us that our mission field starts the moment we step outside the doors of the church, and that even when resistance comes, God is with us every step of the way....

ACTS: Whatever It Takes | Week 1 - Surrender to God, Not Your Idols

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Pastor David focuses on Paul's experience with the idols in Athens and his call to the people to worship the one true God. These Athenian idols aren't much different from the idols in our own lives - whether it’s career, relationships, or hobbies. Pastor David encourages us to recognize these idols and confront them with the help of prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel. The message challenges us to live with conviction, just as Paul did in Athens, adapting to culture w...

Identity - 2025 First Sunday

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || You live out what you believe about yourself whether it is true or not. Identity drives activity. What you believe about yourself and about God will impact everything else in your life. Statements like these helped inform the message that we heard yesterday. In a world where we're so often defined by our activity, Pastor Jerry emphasized the importance of “Being” with God, rather than simply “Doing” for God. Just as Jesus was affirmed in his identity before his public...

Don't Hate The Wait | End of Year Service 2024

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || Reflecting on our modern impatience, Pastor Jerry highlights how we live in a fast-paced world where instant gratification is normal. Pastor Jerry contrasts this with how God operates in a different timeline, often making us wait for His promises. Waiting is a recurring theme in the Bible, where God's promises aren't always fulfilled immediately but can take years, generations, or even lifetimes. Explore with us how we should wait in a fast-paced world while trusting ...

More Than A Wish | Week 5 - Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas, Beach Church! Our Christmas Eve message this year dives into the incredible story of Jesus’ birth and the people God chose to be a part of it. Mary, a humble teenage girl, said “yes” to God’s plan, and Joseph, a young man, trusted God and did the right thing despite the challenges. The first to hear the good news weren’t kings or celebrities—they were shepherds, the least important in society, showing that God’s love is for everyone. Even the wise men, who seemed far from God...

More Than A Wish | Week 4 - A God That Wants to be Found

Yesterday’s message from Pastor Emmanuel explored the inspiring story of the three Magi from Matthew 2:1-12. These “wise men”, or sorcerers, left everything behind to follow a star, trusting it would lead them to the newborn King. God met the Magi in an unlikely place in the midst of their sorcery, showing us that He’s willing to go to unexpected places for us too. The important thing is that we, like the magi, learn to listen to His voice instead of any other.

More Than A Wish | Week 3 - Why Not You?

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In this message, Pastor David posed the powerful question that if God could use shepherds — often considered the lowliest and most disregarded members of society — why wouldn’t He use you? Reflecting on the Christmas story, we talked about how the shepherds, who were living in literal and spiritual darkness, were the first to receive the announcement of Jesus’ birth. The typical expectation is that such an important message would be delivered to the powerful or elite,...

More Than A Wish | Week 2 - God With Us

|| ABOUT THIS MESSAGE || In this message, we're reminded that the birth of Jesus was more than a wish. It was the fulfillment of God’s ancient promise to reconcile humanity - fulfilling over 300 Old Testament prophecies! Pastor Jerry emphasizes the importance of the virgin birth, which allowed Jesus to be sinless and the perfect Savior, able to bear the sins of humanity. Jesus, whose name means “God saves,” came to redeem us from sin, as foretold in Isaiah 53. The Christmas message is not jus...
