Voters in the City of Beaumont have approved Proposition A of the City’s proposed $264.2 million General Obligation (GO) Bond package. The measure will fund critical improvements to infrastructure, drainage, streets, and sidewalks across the city, addressing long-term community needs and enhancing overall quality of life.While other propositions and the proposed venue tax did not receive voter approval, the passage of Proposition A reflects the community’s shared commitment to investing in Beaumont’s core infrastructure and future growth.Following certification of election results, the City will begin the process of issuing bonds related to Proposition A. The City of Beaumont has a bond committee working hard on some proposals for our future. They meet to discuss what to include in a potential bond proposal that may go up for election on the November ballot. The City hasn’t had a bond election since 1983, the same year that Sally Ride became the first American woman in space, and when Michael Jackson debuted the moonwalk.That was 42 years ago. National Travel and Tourism Week is an annual celebration that underscores travel’s essential role in driving our nation's economy, cultivating vibrant communities and forging connections.
