ANXIETY USUALLY ARISES FOR THREE REASONS:
1. You’re avoiding or stuffing emotions that are trying to release out of your system.
2. You’re believing a lie.
3. You’re trying to control (or worry about) a situation that is outside of your realm of control.
This is not a replacement for medical advice - and you may need to go to your family dr., or urgent care, or the emergency room to have them confirm that you are, in fact, NOT dying so that you can check those worries off the list and turn your focus to using the phrases shared in this episode as you move into healing.

1. It doesn’t matter why.
2. Moving on.
3. This is none of my business.
(What is inside my circle of control and what is not?)
4. Cool Story Bro.
5. We’re not doing that right now.

Ask Yourself: What is inside my circle of control?
RADICAL ACCEPTANCE:
“I guess I’m doing today with a racing heart.”
“I guess I’m doing today with shortness of breath.”
“I guess anxiety is riding along with me today…”
When we say “that actually work” we’re saying these actually worked… for Laura. And they absolutely don’t work the first time. They work as you REALLY lean into them and utilize these strategies over time. Those of you who deal with anxiety know that when you try to use a coping mechanism, the anxiety brain will push back HARD. So take that into account as well. Thoughts like: "This isn't working." or "This is making the anxiety worse." are COMMON, and you can move past them and continue to heal.

- Turn your phone off! In fact, don’t even have your cell phone visible during a meal or meeting. It may send the message that whatever may come up on your phone is more important than the person you are spending time with.
- Why it’s so important to speak truth in love. (When appropriate, AND when you believe the person has the emotional maturity to receive it.)
- Be grateful for people in your life who love you enough to correct you.
