This week on Behind the Blue Curtain we’re going to talk about the “Defund the Police” Insanity in a country where violent crime is on the rise along with property crimes. Officers are quitting weekly and contrary to media consensus its not always because of the public. Internal Police politics (Good Ole Boy System), 10–12-hour shifts with standing orders to come in if your called on one of the few days you get off. Police Administrators who pay little if any attention to the men and women of Patrol that work the streets. Unreasonable expectations from City Officials, Citizens, Police Administrators, Supervisors and lazy or apathetic Professional Standards (Internal Affairs) sections that refuse to hold officers accountable. All of that before an officer ever gets to the street to work a call. Then there is the police budget, how many people get a copy and read it? I think if you do you’ll find that often the money is not going to the people who work the streets. Special Units like Traffic (Ticket writers), Special Operations (SWAT), Drug Enforcement and others get a large chunk of that money. Patrol Offices have been tasked with dealing with the homeless crisis and the mental health crisis in America, neither of which is illegal. Saturday is National Whistleblower Day it’s the second year it’s been recognized. Perfect timing for our discussion on why so many Officers is leaving police work. We will talk about the problems and suggest some things politicians and police administrators can do to help build a better environment for Officers, particularly patrol officers since they are the officers people see the most. Police officers have had a tough time because of many high-profile incidents of officer misconduct and in custody deaths. The behavior of a relative few officers has brought public attention to the profession. Police unions continue to stay silent regarding incidents that impact the officer’s work environment in the department while continuing to protect bad officers.

How much of America’s problem are manufactured right here in America? Are we destroying ourselves from the inside? Why can’t we seem to talk to each other anymore? Our politicians (on both sides) are creating more problems than they solve. A lot of churches seem to have gone of the prosperity gospel. The line  separating of church and state is blurring. Rich gets richer, middle class gets poorer and poor get trampled on.  We are on the brink of becoming one of these 3rd world countries where, if you don’t like the outcome of an election, just grab a pitchfork, a torch and put on a ridiculous costume and storm the capital. In Benton Harbor, Michigan, one person was killed, and six others wounded when gunfire broke out near a liquor store. All told throughout the US during the Memorial Day weekend , five mass shootings occurred on Saturday, followed by seven on Sunday and another two on Monday, More than 50 people were shot in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend, including nine fatally, according to police. This Saturday on Behind the Blue Curtain, lets talk about White Supremacy, Domestic Terrorism, Replacement Theory and America’s failure to address the issues. This isn’t just a black problem. Some of the school shooters who went into white schools and killed white children have roots tied back to white supremacist ideology, websites, and organization.
