Garrett Breeze is a Nashville-based composer best known for his catalog of more than 1,500 choral arrangements of popular music, including more than 1,000 written for competitive show choir. He has worn many hats during his career as a freelance orchestrator and music preparer including work on 11 large-format films, Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir, video games such as World of Warcraft and Overwatch, and artists such as Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jordan Smith, Kristin Chenoweth, Michael W. Smith, Santino Fontana, Sutton Foster, and Tauren Wells.  His original production music has been used in commercial spots on all the major television networks and in shows such as Access Hollywood, Judge Judy, Lego Masters, and NOVA. In 2022 he ventured into podcasting with his show Selling Sheet Music, which quickly became a leading voice in the publishing industry. Introducing our Co-Host, Jillian Shively!Jillian works for Musicnotes as our Content and Production Assistant. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Music Composition and Film Scoring, and a certification in Music Technology and Production. Born and raised in Colorado, Jillian has been performing and writing music since elementary school. She has received three DownBeat awards for vocal Jazz performance and has earned opportunities to perform with several notable musicians, including Sarah Brightman (of Phantom of the Opera) and Larry Braggs (of Tower of Power). Now having moved to Nashville, she continues to pursue her passions of teaching, composing, and performing music!
Ashley Miller has been the band and general music teacher at Lancaster Middle School for 13 years. She has a booming program in her rural school - and loves teaching middle school. We discuss the experiences of a music educator in rural areas, Solo and Ensemble across the U.S., and explore the opportunities available to anyone who wants to pursue a career in music education.
