It’s the last Weighed-In before the Cheltenham Festival, so a busy show with lots to get through. Gordon Elliott, the relationship between the IHRB and the BHA, Lee Mottershead and jockey fines are just some of the topics discussed. While, in the weekend review, both Tony and Kevin were suitably impressed with Cloth Cap, agreeing that he will go off favourite, and take some beating, in the Grand National. The Shunter did the business for Kevin on Saturday, but what race will he go for at the Festival, is the question. The County Hurdle, Ultima and Coral Cup are the races in focus for the eighth and final week of ‘Footsteps To The Festival’. TC picks out a nice 16/1 chance in the County Hurdle while Kevin gives a honourable mention to Koshari in the Coral Cup’’
It’s another busy weekend of Racing with ITV taking action from Kelso, Doncaster and Newbury, and the Racing Only Bettor boys are on top tipping form. Kevin has spotted something which most commentators and form students missed when The Shunter last ran in Leopardstown. Unbelievably, Kevin and Tony both fancy the old rogue that is Singlefarmpayment. Hugh reminds them of the definition of insanity, but to no avail. Older horses, Canelo Varios, Eric Idle and rhyming slang from the ‘Cockney’ Barber. It’s all in this week's Racing Only Bettor.
On this week’s Football…Only Bettor, Kevin Hatchard is joined by Mark O’Haire and Jake Osgathorpe to pick out all the best bets for the weekend, including the Manchester Derby and Der Klassiker, and look ahead to next week’s Champions League action. It’s a sombre mood today with discussion focusing on Gordon Elliott and events which came to light over the course of the weekend. Kevin, Hugh and Tony have strong views on the subject and talk in length about the various scenarios which could develop over the coming days and weeks. In week 7 of ‘Footsteps To The Festival’’ the Mares Novice Hurdle. Mares Chase and Kim Muir are the feature races this week. Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to take ‘listeners questions’ but we will answer all that are not time specific next week’s show.
The team are back with top quality tips and analysis of all the ITV action from Kempton, Lingfield, Newcastle. They also discuss the chances of Aintree Grand National favourite, Burrow Saint in the ‘Bobbyjo’ and the Graded action from Cheltenham trials day in Naas on Sunday. No show is complete without the now, obligatory, obscure pop culture reference and the lad’s don’t let us down with One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Naked Attraction, Lewis Capaldi, Dan’s new lodger and red squirrels all managing to, somehow, get a mention!
On this week’s Football…Only Bettor, Kevin Hatchard is joined by Mark O’Haire and Betfair trader Jason Murphy to assess the Champions League picture, look at the league title races across Europe, ask if Brighton have broken the xG model and deliver a lorryload of weekend tips. In a bumper review of the weekend action, the team discuss and dissect Champ’s cracking return in the Betfair Game Spirit, Goshen’s win in the Kingwell Hurdle and Tiger Roll in Navan. Is Soaring Glory a genuine contender for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle? TC is a believer. Top rides from both David Egan and Hugh Morgan are highlighted for very different reasons. Charles Byrnes, Sheik Mo, Panorama and all Twitter questions answered.
Fueled by bacon butties and milky tea, Dan’s builders are in hyper-drive to finish the house, so, he had to sit this one out. Luckily, TC and Kevin have his back. It’s Grade 1 action in Ascot on Saturday and while TC can’t get overly excited Kevin is buzzing for Cyrname to get off in front and do what he does best. He has firmly nailed his colors to that mast. On Sunday there are a host of stars declared for a spectacular ‘Betfair Super Sunday’ in Newbury. It’s a rare occasion when Tony and Kevin land on the same horse but that unlikely scenario comes to pass in the 1.50pm and it’s 12/1. What could possibly go wrong…. Champ, Clan Des Obeaux and a 66/1 rag in the Betfair Hurdle, we have all the Racing bases covered with top tips, insight and a few laughs along the way.

It’s another busy show with week 5 of ‘Footsteps To The Festival’’ kicking off proceedings. The advice is simple. Take a tentative approach to the handicaps until the weighs are out. The ‘Mares’ Hurdle is discussed in a little more detail. Also up for discussion is Davy Russell and his dismissing of Bruce Millington, Nicky’s Altor and Champ curve ball, the IHRB and all your Twitter questions answered.
The weather has played havoc with this weekend’s fixtures but the Racing Only Bettor boys are battling through regardless. Chelmsford got the chop after recording, so you can skip that part, but Lingfield and Naas, who could also fall foul of the weather if failing Saturday inspections, supply the fare for tips and laughs. Hugh is not overly enthusiastic about the prospect of a 0-75 flat handicap over 6F during the National Hunt season but our resident All Weather expert, Kevin Blake, is positively giddy with excitement and he has some strong fancies at Lingfield and Naas. TC manages to eke out some value at both tracks also, while Dan, fresh from tipping Scotland to win the 6 Nations, is sticking to the Rugby. It’s a lively show with, Wrestling, Rugby and a revelation about Hugh’s hidden talent.

It’s a bumper edition of Weighed-in with the guys doing a full and comprehensive review of the ‘Willie Mullins show’, or, the Dublin Racing Festival, as it’s more widely known. In week four of ‘Footsteps To The Festival’ the Gold Cup takes centre stage and TC has a strong fancy for a previous winner of Chasings Blue Riband event at 16/1. While in the Triumph, Gordon Elliott, has an embarrassment of talent in the juvenile division so could he split his aces and run Zanahiyr in the Supreme as Quilixios is only qualified for the Triumph? All of this, plus that gamble and the Charles Byrnes appeal covered.
It’s a bumper weekend of Racing and the Only Bettor team have all the angles covered with unique insight, top analysis and value tips in Sandown, Leopardstown and Edinburgh National for good measure. With eight Grade 1’s taking place over two days, in just 4 years, the Dublin Racing Festival has grown to become a festival to rival Cheltenham. Punters will get the opportunity to see current ante-post favourite in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, The Champion Chase, The Ryanair and the Festival Chase all strut their stuff, plus a litany of Prestbury Park contenders putting their credentials to the test. Over in Sandown, they have to pass a 8am inspection and should they, then we are in for a treat with a stunningly competitive Scilly Isles and the chance to see 3 time Betfair Chase winner, Bristol De Mai, tackling the rearranged Cotswold Chase in his optimum conditions. Tip, betting slips and a fun 6 Nations charity bet for all the crew on a monumental weekend of Racing.

Kevin Blake is the only voice worth listening to in this podcast, the other 2 dont seem to understand the gravity of this situation Outside of Racing. Whether a person has been to a yard and is professing the treatment therein hugely misses the point . Racing doesn't need to convince supporters of our industry it needs to gauge the temperature outside of racing and be seen to deal with this ghoulish behaviour in the strongest terms . The damage done here will only manifest itself when we look for sponsorship for Races and to attract Businesses to our products. Racing receives upwards of 80million Taxpayers money and we need to present a sport that is capable of self regulation... A very Dark day for fans of Horseracing.... Sèan ..
