This week Clancy and Wendell sit down with one of the few Australians who straddle the worlds of professional sports and literature. Brandon Jack hails from one of the more successful sporting families in Australia, with his father and his brother playing NRL and AFL respectively at the highest level. Since hanging up the boots on his own AFL career, Brandon has turned to writing and has just published his second book ‘PISSANTS.’ Satirising Australian sports, footy culture, masculinity and taking influence from his own career, Pissants is already making waves for its controversy and its blunt yet accurate portrayal of what goes on in the changerooms.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Instead of the Weekly, we're taking a trip to Betoota's very own video store, with clerk Alexei Toliopolous. Twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou are the most excited voices in Australian genre cinema since the release of their horror hit TALK TO ME. Their latest film, BRING HER BACK is another emotionally resonant horror exploration of grief and loss that, in many ways, surpasses their remarkable debut. Starring Oscar nominee Sally Hawkins (THE SHAPE OF WATER), Billy Barrat (RESPONSIBLE CHILD), Jonah Wren Phillips (HOW TO MAKE GRAVY) and newcomer Sora Wong, BRING HER BACK is poised to be the horror event of 2025. It’s more than a pleasure to have RackaRacka peruse the shelves of the Last Video Store and pick out some of the films that influenced them.    You can watch The Last Video Store on Youtube  Listen on Spotify or Apple Follow Alexei and The Last Video Store on InstagramSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We preview the upcoming series as well as ask him about the now infamous try celebration that allegedly fuelled Queensland's 8 years of dominance.   Head to http://www.vb.com.au/tissues to get your hands on some State of Origin Tissues!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

I enjoyed this episode, but I’d encourage you to think even bigger. While housing is undeniably critical, it’s part of a broader issue — access to national wealth. The real first priority should be ensuring that the wealth of this country is meaningfully reflected in the lives of all Australians. That includes housing affordability but also fair wages, accessible healthcare, quality education, and stronger public services. Let’s start from the root, not just the branches.

Your guest would be better for the Nationals than the current leader.

The Nats are beholden to Cotton and Coal and farmers are way behind on their list of priorities, that's why the minir parties are growing their votes.
