Description
Between Peaks is a podcast from the Banff Canmore Foundation (BCF) about life in the Bow Valley.
Each episode features conversations with people connected to BCF’s work, including neighbours, nonprofits, community organizers, donors, funders, and others who spend their time engaged with local issues. We talk about what people are trying to address, what gets in the way, and what keeps them involved.
Set in the Bow Valley in the Canadian Rockies, the podcast reflects on the issues that shape everyday life, including housing, food security, climate pressures, access, and belonging. It’s a space for honest conversation about what it takes to care for a place, and the people in it, over time.

In this episode of Between Peaks, Chelsea Cudmore Vloet, Co-President at Cudmore Group and Banff Councillor Kaylee Ram reflect on entrepreneurship, community participation, and what it means to help shape the Bow Valley.
From generational retail roots and starting fresh in a new town, to growing a local business and serving in municipal leadership, they share why stepping forward to participate, even when it feels uncomfortable, matters.
From supporting Jasper wildfire relief to creating affordable ski access for local kids, this conversation highlights the many ways people contribute to strengthening the places they call home.
This conversation offers a grounded look at how two local women entrepreneurs move beyond storefronts to influence economic strategy, municipal governance, and community investment, and why participation, big or small, matters.

In this episode of Between Peaks, we sit down with Quinn Currado, Program Manager at The Homelessness Society of the Bow Valley, to explore the realities of food and basic needs insecurity in the Bow Valley.
Quinn shares what food insecurity looks like locally, the pressures facing individuals and families, and how pilot programs can help communities respond with agility and care. We discuss the Community Food Cupboard initiative, why low-barrier access matters, and how dignity, collaboration, and responsiveness shape effective support systems.
This conversation offers a grounded look at how communities test solutions, learn quickly, and evolve programs to better meet changing needs.
