Description
We all have fears we must face, fears that prevent us from going above and beyond in life, but it's not just fears; it's past insecurities and traumas as well. And instead of confronting the things that scare us the most, we mask and hide from our dreams and future, afraid we might mess up. Every month, join @nylasedwards in facing her fears as she navigates the world of fashion and the everyday challenges life throws. Talking about the past and present, we're going Beyond the Face and headed into the future.

As Invisible disabilities week comes to an end I decided to face a fear of mine and openly discuss my own invisible disabilities or rather two of them: Bipolar 2 and ADHD.I wanted to open up about my struggles to remind anyone who's dealing with anything difficult that you are not alone and you are amazing the way you are.And with that being said I hope you enjoy and I'll talk to yall in the next one! <3
With my bestie Kedrine, this week we're discussing ways in which we keep ourselves afloat when it comes to work, social lives, and school. I'm not going to lie, life is crazy and that is made apparent in the many examples given in today's episode. When it comes to adulting and working in the fashion world organization is key to staying sane. Enjoy the ep and I'll see yall in the next one!
Yoga is one of those things that are stereotyped for "old women" but that's not the case at all. Yoga is super beneficial for not only the mind but every part of the body as well.
This is the episode yall have been waiting for. I get so many questions about this industry and what I do, and I never really know what to say. I've been modeling professionally for a little over a year now so by no means am I an expert, this is my opinion based on my experience and stories other models have told me. I made this podcast to give myself a place to share my experience, and hopefully, this episode and the episodes following give you something to think about before diving into the deep end of the fashion world. I'm not here to scare you or lie about the industry, I just want to be honest about my experiences and the realities of the job. I hope you enjoy this episode and I'll see you in the next one.
Hey yall, Welcome back! This week we're talking about my European adventures. Surprise! That's the reason for my disappearance. But I'm back with some stories that'll hopefully make you laugh. Thank you so much for tuning in and I'll see yall next week. Make sure to follow my socials @nylasedwards, and feel free to send questions to beyondthefacepodcast@gmail.com
I hate that this even needs to be discussed. I want my content to be fun and light-hearted, I want this podcast to be an even mix of fun and serious. But I, as a woman in America, feel the need to talk about it and educate myself and anyone who listens to this episode. I did a lot of research on this and it horrifies me to know that this is a topic of conversation among the people of power in this nation. I want to apologize for my anger towards this subject and for anything that seems harsh or lacking in logic.
This week's episode is very chill and at this point in the semester my braincells are dead, so bear with me. I decided to have a day where I didn't use my phone, watch tv, use my laptop... nothing. So this week we're talking about being able to put our phones and social media down to enjoy life.
Joining me this week is one of my best friends Kedrine. We'll be discussing the overwhelmingly controversial topic of Black women and our hair. From the male gaze to the fashion industry we're diving into personal experiences that give you a glimpse into the mind of a woman with 4b/4c type hair. (repost) (Kedrine's Instagram- @kedrine.__)
I get a lot of questions about my skin so here's all that I do. There's nothing too special about it in my opinion but I hope this helps at least one person on their skincare journey.
After explaining a little bit about what "fashion week" is. I wanted to try and explain my favorite looks from the Fendi, Off-White and Versace shows the best way possible. With my lack of a funny bone, this episode is quite cringy so I hope you enjoy listening to me struggle like an awkward mess.
Welcome or Welcome back to Beyond the Face. This week we'll be taking a quick trip down memory lane with my Gucci experience.p.s. Tell me Gucci Memory Lane doesn't sound like an awesome campaign title?! I'm just saying that would be a dope collection.Anyway, enjoy :)
I get a lot of questions about how I got into this crazy industry. This week I'm explaining (the short version) of my story. I went from being this shy and awkward little girl from a small town in New Jersey to a less shy, still awkward model in New York City.
Welcome to Beyond the Face, the story of my life in fashion... but it's the story of just me... I'm awkward, corny, and in all honesty, I'm a loser. I want to show people that there is more than the "pretty model girl on Instagram." If you have questions make sure to send us an email at beyondthefacepodcast@gmail.com and keep in touch with me at @nylasedwards on Instagram and TikTok. And make sure to tune in every other Sunday for new episodes!
How about trans women? 🤭
