Description
Bipolar Recorder is an American mental health outreach initiative created by writer and musician, Hunter Keegan. The podcast revolves around stories from people who live with bipolar disorder and/or other forms of serious mental illness (SMI). Interviews with mental health professionals and other expert guests are also periodically featured.
Fiercely independent ever since its inception in 2021, Bipolar Recorder is known for providing candid, unfiltered, and sometimes controversial takes on living with SMI.
Over the years, Bipolar Recorder has evolved from a podcast series to a multifaceted grassroots advocacy project involving books, documentary films, online peer support communities, university presentations, and more.
Bipolar Recorder brings complex human stories that are often overshadowed by social stigma into the light and fosters dialogues about surviving (and sometimes thriving) with mental illness.
