Blockade Games is behind Neon District, Plasma Bears, and Pineapple Arcade. Neon District is their flagship game -- a blockchain-based RPG that with a multi-phased release. Before we get to all things Blockade, I talk to Marguerite about her art, and crypto puzzles, where she has gotten a lot of attention. Her most popular piece, TORCHED H34R7S, is up now for auction both as an NFT (non-fungible token) and a physical painting. The puzzle was solved in 2018, with a price of 5 bitcoin.[caption id="attachment_2686" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] The puzzle painting worth 5 bitcoin[/caption]A great Vice article digs more into the story of the person who solved the puzzle after three years.Marguerite went on to do a lot of work in the Blockchain ecosystem around marketing and community, before starting Blockade Games. There is so much opportunity with the games she's building, you need to listen to all of it.Links from the showNeon DistrictBlockade GamesAuction on Open SeasPlasma BearsPineapple ArcadeTechstars demo pitchBlock CitiesCrypto VoxelsCoin Artist on TwitterFind Josh and Brian elsewhereJosh's articles on Brave New CoinJosh's YouTube channelJosh on Twitter @carpenoctomBrian on Twitter @ledgerstatusLedger Status Learn coursePartner: Brave New CoinBrave New Coin offers institutional grade crypto market data, tracking 1500+ digital & cryptographic assets from 250+ exchanges 24/7/365. Wes's business provides market making services in the cryptocurrency space, primarily for lower liquidity small cap altcoins, including new listings. They have worked a lot on projects with initial distributions through decentralized exchanges like IDEX. We talked about how those opportunities come about, how they work practically, and discuss a lot of risks in the market. The idea of market making brand new listings, and going into partnership agreements with exchanges and coin teams, is fascinating to me. Mostly because it sounds a bit scary. Wes is a smart investor and trader and he helps break down exactly what kinds of risks there are, what the practice requires, and how they do what they do.Other linksLiquid Malta websiteWes on TwitterWes on Crypto StreetFind Josh and Brian elsewhereJosh's articles on Brave New CoinJosh's YouTube channelJosh on Twitter @carpenoctomBrian on Twitter @ledgerstatusLedger Status Learn coursePartner: Brave New CoinBrave New Coin offers institutional grade crypto market data, tracking 1500+ digital & cryptographic assets from 250+ exchanges 24/7/365. I go in depth on how Algorand completely screwed up what was supposed to be a "fair" distribution of their tokens, in effect helping their earliest investors dump on retail for huge multiples of profits, leaving exchange buyers totally holding the bag.https://twitter.com/ledgerstatus/status/1157112245987487746We spend time talking exchanges, exchange tokens, the rush to futures, and more. We discussed FTX.com and their products I find interesting, LedgerX's CEO going ham on Twitter and their PR guy quitting, and more.We discuss Josh's price and fundamental analysis on LiteCoin, BAT, and NEM.And of course we dig into pricing -- with a focus on Bitcoin and a discussion about my Tezos position. Here are a couple charts related. Seed CX is a platform for institutional investors to trade crypto, with up around 3x margin. We discuss the challenges building a product for institutions, for acquiring proper licensing in the United States, and a bunch of stuff around building a quality exchange business and trading experience.SeedCX interests me for a couple reasons. For one, collateral is very flexible and can be in bitcoin or multiple forms of fiat. Secondarily, taker fees are only 8 basis fees and maker fees are 0. Thirdly, there is a nightly settlement process so each customer has their own wallets, while trading is on their centralized platform.I enjoyed this chat with Edward, learning how they have built things, and the challenges they face -- particularly the competition with more "cowboy" exchanges. Thanks to our new sitewide partner, Brave New Coin.
