The Beans has decided to land here briefly to chat with Robert W. Townsend.
Saturday morning shennanigans with our buds TTT.
The roots of North Texas’ Metal Legends, WARLOCK, can be traced to the earliest primal stirrings of the Lone Star State’s embryonic Heavy Metal music scene. Certainly, there were rock bands playing the club circuit before Warlock emerged in 1981 and some of these bands would occasionally play an Iron Maiden or Ozzy song amongst their Bob Seger and Loverboy tunes. Pantera was among these cover bands and leaned heavier than some but their set consisted of a lot of “party” rock songs from Van Halen and Def Leppard. Warlock was one of the first, if not THE first local band to be “all metal, all the time” and, by metal, we mean the hardest, rawest, most uncompromising metal around in the early 80’s, following the same course as bands such as Motorhead, Venom, Exciter, Priest, Saxon, Holocaust, Raven, etc (in fact Warlock played covers by all of those bands). The first line up of Warlock included Jerry Warden on vocals, his brother David on guitar, Casey Orr on bass and Harden Harrison on drums.

Comprised of Zach Allen (vocals), Harrison Marcello (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Zak Gross (bass, vocals), and Jimmi Kane (drums), this New York City-based band is all about big hooks and big riffs. Tempt brings musicianship, style, performance, and an intense rock sound to a new generation. Tempt is an explosive new band built on a love for melodic rock. The band is fronted by two 19 year olds on vocals and guitar has taken the heritage of the Sunset Strip, New Jersey and the streets of their hometown New York City and made it their own to take rock into the 21st century. Adage: A modern rock band displaying monster riffs and powerful lyrical hooks. Featuring guitarist and vocalist Justin, guitarist Luke, bassist Johnathan and Alex on drums, Adage is engaging the music scene with full force. Recently signed with Pavement Entertainment and currently playing shows across the southeast, Adage is setting their sights to hit stages across the U.S.! Righteous Vendetta Has come a long way from their humble beginnings at a community college in western Wyoming. Through two full-length records, one EP, hundreds of thousands of miles on the road, and numerous tours, they have established themselves as a veteran act with more than a few notches on their proverbial belt.  From their inception, Righteous Vendetta has never been comfortable with sitting still. After releasing two full-length albums on Red Cord Records and touring extensively on that material, they decided it was time for a change. “We finished our 2011 release Lawless and started thinking what we were going to do next. After some ideas were tossed around, we decided to try something that would really challenge our songwriting skills and push us to our creative limits. So we took the intensity and high-energy of our older metalcore sound and tried to take it in a more appealing direction”, writes guitarist Justin Olmstead. The result of this new direction was their single “This Pain”, which spent fifteen weeks in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Christian Rock chart. Since then they’ve hit the ground running with the independently released Righteous Vendetta, Vol. I. Though the band’s style has changed with their latest release, their brand of hook-infused rock has found fans on the airwaves and at venues throughout the country. Their newest single, “The Fire Inside”, has spent more than a dozen weeks on the Christian Rock chart, peaking at #9 and sharing the Top 10 with the likes of Skillet, Red, and P.O.D.

Ratchet Dolls: Ratchet Dolls (formerly known as The Skeptic)  “80's Hair Metal Revival Band” (Founded on September 21, 2010)  The “Rise of Ratchet Dolls” : Being some of the major outcasts of Brownsville TX and the rest of the Rio Grande Valley, the band gained massive recognition by ranking high on the local music scene.  “A lot probably had to do with the message sent through our image.”  Ratchet Dolls started off playing small venues with Death Metal/Core bands. You can only imagine how much they stood out; but even then, the guys would rock the crowd! They eventually turned to a Carnie Band and toured under the Univision Valley Carnival but soon stopped.  The band performed at a couple of music competitions/battle of the bands and WON THEM ALL (earning them respect from many venues, local promoters, photographers, magazines, and radio stations by the end of the first year being a band). Ratchet Dolls has never been high on the economy so it’s crazy how much they got done on their own!  Towards the end of the their first year together, Ratchet Dolls received phone calls and messages from several record labels offering assistance and renounced it all.
