When we sat down to record Part 1, there was more on our hearts than we could fit into one conversation. This episode is Part 2—the continuation of the story we couldn’t find anywhere else. It’s raw, honest, and vulnerable. We talk about what it really looks like to keep showing up for each other, even when it’s hard, and the ways God has met us in the mess and the beauty of blending our family. This is the conversation we almost lost… but one we’re grateful to finally share with you.
Not our podcast—our story. Shaun Tabatt invited us on his show to share some of our story and the heart behind Blended with Christian & Laura. Along with his podcast, Shaun is an author, and an executive publisher with Destiny image. He has his own unique blended story and lives in South Carolina with his wife Nicole and 11 children. When we met Shaun last year we became fast friends. https://shauntabatt.com/Shaun Tabatt Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ErN7D06YN0

Why do we care so much about fighting for connection? Why does it matter so deeply to us? Because staying connected takes effort—it’s a fight, and it requires intentional work. We’re not experts by any means; we’ve stumbled plenty along the way. But through every failure, we’ve held on to the desire for a strong, healthy connection. In this episode, we’re sharing some of the lies we once believed, the lessons we’ve learned, and why we’re convinced that fighting for connection is always worth it.
Today we bring you into our world, our dynamic and our Spring Break. We talk through how we planned the trip, why we went on a trip. Some of our fails in planning in the past, and what things made this particular family trip as fun as it was. What do we think made the difference this time. If anything we hope you laugh with us today.
Our Journey. If you caught our last two episodes you heard our individual journeys, history with the Lord, and the circumstances we navigated. Today we bring you in on the road we walked to meeting each other and eventually marrying. We share how we navigated dating after both having been married. How do you introduce each other to your children. We also share how our community surrounded us with confirmation and safety along the way. We have anticipated this episode a long time. We hope you enjoy coming into our world, and find hope for any impossibilities you face.
In this Episode Victoria Musgrove is back. She interviews Christian through his personal journey with losing his wife in a battle with cancer. Together they unpack the anxiety that began, from a loss of control in the hardest of circumstances. How did that drive Christian to pursue God in a way he hadn't before? What he experienced through those hard years, how he learned and ultimately what the Lord did in him. They also discuss that he still believes God is good and is a God of miracles. Christian's story is one of losing control and relying soley on the strength of God.
In this episode we hear from Laura, she is joined by Victoria Musgrove, her sister in law and friend. Together they unpack Laura's individual journey in her previous marriage and her walk with the Lord that eventually lead her to meeting Christian. They dive into what her marriage was like, how long she was married, where she was in relationship with Jesus, and how things ultimately ended in divorce. Laura shares what the Lord taught her and how she grew throughout those years as a single mom of four children. Her story is the nearness of God and His supernatural provision to those who trust in Him.
In this episode we flip the negative script in our heads. When we are in hard seasons that require a lot from us, we can tend to focus on all the things we know need to happen. Sometimes all we see is everything that is going wrong. In the day to day we can see the frustrations we have, but also where we wish we were. In this discussion we decided to verbalize the opposite with each other, in all areas of our family, marriage and parenting. We decided lets focus on what are some things that have worked. What things have gone well. We hope this brings you one of two things. Either a creative idea for your own family, or a way to begin to reflect on your own situations, and encourage yourselves and families. Let’s choose to change the way we think and see what is good.
In this episode we revisit the very first conversation we ever had. Making decisions no matter what season you find yourself in, is an inevitable thing. Daily we have decisions that need to be navigated, for ourselves, and our families. Knowing your priorities as a family is key. Otherwise, what others are doing will be what you follow. Let's talk about how as Spirit-led Christians we follow Jesus, our Prince of Peace, as Lord.
In our very first episode, we share some of our journey thus far. Hard seasons and stressful transitions are inevitable in life. We all have either navigated through some or are currently navigating. Christian and I share some things that we feel really helped us get to the healthy place we are now. We also share some things we wish we would have done. We hope this episode encourages you no matter the season you find yourself and your family in. We hope you know you can and will get through it.
Here it is, our OFFICIAL TRAILER! We are so excited to give you a tiny teaser of what's to come in our first season of Blended. We are so thankful you are here and hope you enjoy following along!
