Description

Nominated for 4 Australian Podcast Awards, including 2019 Best Independent True Crime. Barney Black and Tara Sariban discuss the dark details of lesser know true crime stories from Australia and around the world. As avid listeners of true crime podcasts they aim to add to the conversation by talking about murders that haven't been done to death on other shows. Their humour comes from some rather unusual places but never at the expense of the victims or their families.

In this special crossover episode of Bloody Murder and True Crime Island, we discuss Serial Killer Rattlesnake James.Half assed conman and serial killer Robert S. James gained infamy when he tried to murder his fifth wife Mary by putting her leg into a box of rattlesnakes. When she failed to die in a timely enough fashion, he drowned her in the bathtub and tried to cash in her life insurance policy.Insurance investigators discovered his third wife Winona had also died by drowning shortly after marrying him and taking out a large insurance policy. His nephew had met an untimely end in a suspicious fashion too and the less said about what he got up to with his 18 year old niece, the better.Aussie As: Two Western Australian mates get swept out to sea while drifting on an inflatable mattress on the ocean and drinking an esky full of beer. For our sources, see our website www.bloodymurderpodcast.com.Become a Bloody Murder Patron (for as little as $1 per month, which you can cancel at anytime) and have access to dozens of Patron only episodes (including our whole first season and AD FREE episodes released early! After 34 year old beauty therapist and mother of two, Novy Chardon went missing from her Gold Coast home in February 2013, her husband John wasn't even slightly concerned. He made sexual advances to her friends who came looking for her and didn't bother reporting his fifth wife's disappearance to the police. The day she vanished, Novy's divorce lawyer had sent John an email saying she wanted half his assets in the settlement. Interestingly enough, this is almost exactly what had happened before Chardon's first wife Maureen died of a suspicious overdose 17 years earlier.TCNT: Keely Johnston wrote to us about the Podcast, True Crime Campfire.Aussie As: The violent rampages of a Gold Coast bikie keep getting thwarted by bollards. For our sources, see our website www.bloodymurderpodcast.com.Become a Bloody Murder Patron (for as little as $1 per month, which you can cancel at anytime) and have access to dozens of Patron only episodes (including our whole first season and AD FREE episodes released early!) with new patron only content added every month!Go to https://www.patreon.com/bloodymurderLevels $5 and over go into our monthly merchandise draws and get Stickers and hand-made Barney Badges!See our website! bloodymurderpodcast.com for all our social media links, contact details, a gallery, fabulous merchandise.True Crime Nerd Time, a segment on Bloody Murder, needs your help because it stars you! He’d been gone four days before she reported Ron missing, and she did so only after Ron's coworkers had already informed the police.
