Description

2019 Finalist Best Independent True Crime & 2019 Finalist Popular Vote - Aust. Podcast Awards. Barney Black and Tara Sariban discuss the dark details of lesser know true crime stories from Australia and around the world. As avid listeners of true crime podcasts they aim to add to the conversation by talking about murders that haven't been done to death on other shows. Their humour comes from some rather unusual places but never at the expense of the victims or their families.

Sexy Sadistic Slayer Sheila LaBarre with Kate Wallinga from Ignorance Was Bliss...Diagnosed as acutely delusional and sadistic, rabbit-loving Sheila LaBarre murdered at least two of her boyfriends, Michael Deloge and Kenneth Countie, on her remote farm in Epping, New Hampshire. She said she had died of a drug overdose and was sent back to Earth as an angel with special powers here to seek vengeance on paedophiles. The problem was that her victims were not paedophiles. She would seduce slightly built, transient men, move them into her house and completely dominate their lives. Then she would torture them into confessing to being paedophiles on tape, before killing them and burning their remains.A very special thank you to Kate Wallinga from Ignorance Was Bliss, check out her fabulous episodes here https://iwbpodcast.podbean.com See our website! bloodymurderpodcast.com for all our socal media links, contact details, a gallery, fabulous merchandise (check out our new Bloody Murder SHOES! and now STICKERS and BACKPACKS and DUFFEL BAGS!!) and much much more.Become a Bloody Murder Patron for loads of extra episodes (including our early stuff), early release of some episodes, free merchandise and other sweet, sweet benefits.Wanna buy us a drink? The Many Dead Wives Of Robert Spangler and Crappy Kidnapper Edwin Eastwood...Robert Spangler loved hiking in the Grand Canyon. He also loved being married. What he didn't like was the pesky financial burden of divorce. After the 1990 death of his third wife Donna, whilst hiking in the Grand Canyon, investigators were alarmed to discover his wives often came to grizzly ends that were never anything to do with him. Or were they?In 1972 , unemployed plasterers Edwin Eastwood and Robert Boland decided to kidnap school children and their teacher from Faraday Primary School for ransom money. Was this a stupid idea? It certainly was. Would Edwin go on to do it again at the Wooreen Primary School, 3 years later after a daring prison escape? He certainly would. Where does the murder come in? Diabolical Doctor Anthony Pignataro and Emma LaDoux and Her Hat Of Doom...In the late 1990’s Anthony Pignataro was a big-shot plastic surgeon in New York. He drove around in his red Lamborghini and gained international fame for inventing a “Snap on” hairpiece that connected to bolts he drilled into the skulls of bald men. His image was shattered in 1997, when Pignataro’s long history of medical malpractice came to light after another death of a patient, and soon afterwards his wife Debbie was struck down by a mysterious illness. In 1906, in Stockton, California, Emma LaDoux was in a bigamous pickle. She had one too many husbands. How would she avail herself out of this “too many dicks on the dance floor” problamo? Let’s just say her solution involved a large trunk, a hell of a lot of morphine and one enormous flowered hat.See our website! bloodymurderpodcast.com for all our socal media links, contact details, a gallery, fabulous merchandise (check out our new Bloody Murder SHOES! and now STICKERS and BACKPACKS and DUFFEL BAGS!!) and much much more.Become a Bloody Murder Patron for dozens of extra episodes (including our early stuff), early release of some episodes, free merchandise and other sweet, sweet benefits.Wanna buy us a drink? The Pettingill Family - The True Animal Kingdom...The phenomenal Australian crime film “Animal Kingdom” is one of our favourites but did you know it’s based on a true story? Ruled by murderous matriarch Kath, the notorious Pettingill family dominated the Melbourne Underworld in the 1970’s and 80’s. They were drug dealers, armed robbers, rapists and murderers. Even police officers were not safe from their reign of terror. This is a tale of extreme drug-use, rampant violent crime and police corruption. But the most shocking thing in this case is that the truth is not only stranger than fiction, it’s also much worse.Vote for us in the Australian Podcast Awards! Go to australianpodcastawards.com, click on the “vote” button in the top right corner and then search for Bloody Murder. We have under 500 votes at the moment but we get around 15,000 listens per week. Bushrangers the Kenniff Brothers and Deadly Grandmother Caroline Grills...Paddy and Jimmy Kenniff were cattle-duffers, pony-pinchers and general rabble rousers. They were the last of the great Australian bushrangers. Roaming the land fully armed and living in caves in country Queensland, in the early 1900s. They would come undone due to the brutal murders of an innocent copper, Constable George Doyle, and a bullying station manager, Albert Dahlke. The story of the Kenniff brothers is one of adventure and tragedy as well as being an intriguing murder mystery. In Sydney in the late 1940’s, a short, bespectacled, great-grandmother named Caroline Grills became an unlikely serial killer. Caroline loved making cakes, biscuits and cups of tea for her relatives and especially loved seeming like an angel by helping them when they were ill…from the thallium she was poisoning them with.Vote for us in the Australian Podcast Awards! Go to australianpodcastawards.com, click on the “vote” button in the top right corner and then search for Bloody Murder. Hi ya! Patreon supporter Mortimer Bustos here. I have a story you might be interested in. In 1999-2000 I had a job in Houston TX. Turns out my my workmate turns out was The Tourniquet Killer Anthony Allen Shore. I had no idea of course and didn't know until 3 yrs later when I got a phone call from my uncle informing me. I had already relocated back to Illinois. He was a sicko. It would be interesting to he Tara and Barnys' take on his shitty story. There is loads of info online. There is also a good book written by Cory Mitchell called Strangler. Cheers! Hope to hear back and keep kicking against the pricks!

Berene Morrow

During the Nerd Time portion of this podcast someone recommended a book about girls and young women being murdered in Springfield,OH, USA. One of the girls murdered was my step-daughter Phree Morrow. I t was 26yrs ago August 22 that a very sick group of people beat, raped and mrudered Phree (12) and her friend Martha(11) while they walked a few blocks down the street to the bakery to buy donuts. There is now a Childrens Memorial behind the bakery where their bodies were found on August 23 1992. Since that time many of Phree's family have passed away and there is only her brothers, sisters, uncles, many cousins and I that are keeping her memory alive today.
