On this episode, we are joined by all three members of the legendary Ape Hangers. At the end of June, we did a zoom interview with Pete Sjostedt, Bob Kiah, and Dennis McCarthy — better known as Ape Hangers — for a fun, free-flowing conversation. At the time, we were a little vague about what was on the horizon, but now I can finally let the cat out of the bag: Ape Hangers are officially back with a brand-new EP and single coming soon on Rum Bar Records. It’s been over 20 years since their incredible self-titled second album and even longer since their debut on A&M Records, which featured the unforgettable “I Don’t Want To Live Today,” famously included in the cult classic film Empire Records. And here’s the really exciting part — the band is playing their first Boston show in more than two decades on Saturday, August 23 at 3 PM at the Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain. The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, in my opinion, is some kind of weird, elitist club that most likely accepts monetary "donations" or decides who's in and who's out for some popularity contest or politics. it seems that way, because they're so random. no one i know gives it any credence anymore... and I love Radiohead a lot, one of my favorite bands, (Haha!), but I totally agree with you that they shouldn't be included..yet..I do believe the classic rockers should go first, of course! I'm with you about Deep Purple, Steev! but screw TRnRHoF - who cares what they think?
