Description

It’s time to travel back to the Jeffersonian – this time, with an insider tour from the squint squad who made “Bones” one of the longest-running primetime dramas in TV history. Emily Deschanel (Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan) and Carla Gallo (Daisy Wick) are besties who met on set and are ready to take you back to the beginning, episode by episode. How did the show start?  Which first-season episode aired out of order? Why did the Angelator become the Angelatron? And shouldn’t Brennan have been wearing gloves or something when she was reconstructing that skull? (The answer is yes.) Emily and Carla will also interview the cast, the crew, the directors, and the producers who made the show so special. Whether you’re a new watcher or already King of the Lab, we promise this rewatch will save you from ever saying “I don’t know what that means” again.

Hi Boneheads! While we're on break, we wanted to share with you Emily's episode on David Duchovny's podcast Fail Better. Behind Emily's amazing performance as Brennan, she was battling a lot. She was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia at a young age, so she often struggled to master the intricate anatomical jargon week after week. Pushing through panic attacks on set and challenging moments with showrunner Hart Hanson, Emily persevered, going on to carry one of television's longest-running dramas. Emily and David look back at her career and unpack the very real demands of balancing constant filming with mental health, as well as raising a family. They even talk about David's experience directing her on Bones! Joining Lemonada Premium is a great way to support our shows and get bonus content. Hey Boneheads! We're taking a break, but we're bringing back this ride along with Patricia Belcher. She's the actor behind beloved no-nonsense attorney, Caroline Julien. Since this was her first appearance on Bones, Patricia has all the cold goss on this New Orleans episode. She gives us her hot takes on the voodoo, the overly gruesome murders, and how David Boreanaz loved her character so much, he told the writers to bring her back! And good thing they did, because some of Patricia’s favorite all time scenes are helping Booth and Brennan FINALLY admit their feelings for each other. But, we’re getting ahead of ourselves!  Find out more about other shows on our network @lemonadamedia on all social platforms. Each week, comedians and best friends Jessica St. Clair and June Diane Raphael take a ‘deep dive’ into their real lives and discuss a wide range of topics including how to pursue joy amidst the insanity of motherhood and family, grief and loss, sh*t they put on their faces, and why they refuse to check their voicemails or unpack their suitcases. The Deep Dive captures the friendship of two women trying to survive adult womanhood. Their motto, shared by their loyal Deep Divers, is "Let Us Live!" This week, we are NOT well. June is trying to dig her way out of a nap while Jessica is coming to us from a studio haunted by Bob Dylan (still alive, btw). Then Jessica performs medical procedures on herself and others, June dives into the Karen Read trial, and we learn that yelling at our friends’ kids may be the balm we all need. We’re off this week, but wanted to leave you with one of our all-time favorite podcasts: Add to Cart! Hosted by the hilarious Kulap Vilaysack (comedian, writer, director) and veteran journalist SuChin Pak, Add to Cart offers a smart, subversive look at the things we buy—and why. Each week, Ku and Su get into honest (and often TMI) convos about all the stuff they’re adding to or removing from their carts. From beauty products and health fads to celeb obsessions and big life philosophies, they’re here to figure out what’s really worth our time, money, and emotional energy. With over 200 episodes, it’s an incredibly fun show to binge. In this episode, special guest Samantha Bee joins to chat about her bread-making era that never quite happened, swimsuits that should come with a warning, and the heartbreak of a bad RealReal buy. Also: eclipse eye health and why trampoline time might be a post-kids no-go. What do we love more than a murder mystery? The first appearance of Tamara Taylor, aka Cam Saroyan, of course! The witty and funny Saroyan absolutely stole the show (and our hearts) in the premiere of season two. Emily and Carla talk about the wild, body-switching, stock-crashing plot of this episode, and then Tamara joins the conversation to give us all the juicy deets of her “Bones” debut. Woohoo! We have finished recapping the first season of Bones! To celebrate, Carla and Emily sit down to reflect on the season as a whole, from the initial pilot to the cliffhanger finale, and discuss what lies ahead. Booth backstory? Yes please! This episode gets into Booth’s past as a sniper, explored through the mystery of a burnt corpse on the grave. Through a lot of twists and turns, Booth and Brennan unravel a story of military cover-up and corruption. Keep an eye on that B&B love meter! We’re also joined by “Bones” showrunner, producer and writer Stephen Nathan who talks about creating this episode, CGI gravestones and more. Prepare to have your heartstrings pulled, because this episode opens in a pediatric cancer ward. Deputy Director Sam Cullen's young daughter, Amy, has mysteriously developed lung cancer after receiving a bone graft from a 60-year-old, instead of a much younger and healthier donor. Booth and Brennan chase down the reason and discover that Amy is not the only victim. Meanwhile, Angela grows closer to Amy, who wants to fall in love before she dies. Although Carla and Emily love the sweet moments, they wonder if things get a little too on the nose in other places. Also, they talk about Emily and David’s fun chemistry during their press tour.
