Description
How long could an average person survive as the hero in classic action movies? It's our job to find out.
Covering a different movie every episode, we discuss how someone with no training or special skills would fare in place of the protagonist, counting the possible fatalities along the way.
Our self imposed rules of the game:
1) One Death per Scene;
2) Plot Armour - We are afforded the same 'luck' as the hero;
3) Rules of that Universe Apply - We assume a level of familiarity with any alternate history, technology or anything supernatural from the universe; and
4) Reasonable Progression - We progress from one scene to the next if it is reasonable to do so, if we would take a different path than the hero.

Mwah! Welcome to the 2024 Bootleg Turkey Valentine’s Special! Romance might be dead, but this podcast will never die! So, here’s an extra-special treat just in time for Valentine’s Day: It’s another of the fan-favourite ‘Guess the Twist’ episodes! This week we are watching the 2008 Ryan Reynolds rom-com ‘Definitely, Maybe”. (Before you start, we’re not actually 4 months late, we just don’t conform to these types of ‘Hallmark Holidays’… and love is eternal, so how could it ever be late?Also, we apologise for the bad audio again, but we promise we’ve fixed it for the next ones!)
Season 2 Episode 9 covers the 2023 Horror 'Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey'. Themes include: Huel, New Year’s Resolutions, and Public Domain Day.(Apologies in advance for poor audio quality. But, let’s be honest, you ain’t paying for these, so you can’t be that annoyed.)

(Apologies in advance for all the cussing.)
Season 2 Episode 6 really turns the series on its head. Instead of watching a movie to see how long we would last, Jacob pitches his movie idea, 'The Runner', which gives the listener the opportunity to see how long they can last before switching over to a better podcast!

Episode 6 rings in the finale of Season 1 with the 1998 Morgan Freeman / Christian Slater action-thriller 'Hard Rain'. Themes include: Artificial Intelligence, Free TV Apps, and The Graham Norton Show.

What better movie for our Christmas special than the 1988 action thriller 'Die Hard'? This is the first proper, slightly more polished episode, so thanks for sticking with us. It is not essential but watching the movie beforehand will improve the listening experience.
Episode 2 covers the 2009 John Cena action movie '12 Rounds'. We were still working things out in this one, but think it is still worth a listen. It is not essential but watching the movie beforehand will improve the listening experience. Feel free to skip to episode 3 if you want to start where we (sort of) got the hang of things.
Episode 1 covers the 2008 Liam Neeson classic 'Taken'. As this is our first one it is very much a rough cut but we felt it was worth releasing as it gives people an idea of how the concept has developed. It is not essential but watching the movie beforehand will improve the listening experience. Feel free to skip to episode 3 if you want to start where we (sort of) got the hang of things.
In this week’s epipen, we talk merch and eyes. This ain’t a full episode, so don’t get your hopes up. It is a little bit of a behind the scenes to tide you over until the next one. Enjoy!
When it comes to turkey, some people prefer dark meat; some prefer light! This is neither, this is the pressure washed carcass that supermarkets throw out after they’ve made their succulent sandwich fillings. Enjoy!
