The Celtics lose 114-108 to the Trail Blazers because of some costly turnovers and offensive rebounding. JB continued his stretch of 30+ pt performances tying Larry Bird for a franchise record 9 consecutive games and even passed Bill Sharman for 12th all time in franchise scoring but it was a bit over shadowed tonight by the turnovers down the stretch. Him and White were just not on the same page in the final stretch and it really cost the Celtics. After a tough first quarter where the Celtics gave up 39pts after a 6-6 from 3 start from the Pacers, the Celtics calmed down and blew the doors off the Pacers 140-122. JB scored 30pts continuing his ridiculous run scoring 30+ in 8 straight games which is just 1 shy from tying Larry Bird all time. Hauser balled out hitting his first 7 3s. Pritchard scored 29pts and White scored 21!It may not have started perfectly but the Celtics turned it around quickly out scoring the Pacers 47-22 in the 2nd quarter and never relinquishing the lead after with their largest lead being 28 pts!! The Celtics beat the Pacers 103-95 in a Joe Mazzulla masterclass. Yes, this is a game that the Celtics should win BUT the Celtics did not come out playing well early. They found themselves down by as many as 20 and 3 minutes into the third quarter, Mazzulla pulled all of his starters and the bench goes OFF! They responded with a 10-2 run forcing a Pacers timeout and extended that run to 19-5 forcing another Pacers timeout! Eventually the bench magic ran out and Mazzulla brought his starters back in but instead of being down 20, they were down just 8 and then you had JB who just took over. JB out scored the Pacers 14-13 in the 4th quarter! The Pacers shot a ridiculous 12-20 from 3 in the first half and just 1-20 in the second so there is certainly a bit of luck in there but they do say water finds its level and the Pacers are the worst 3pt shooting team in the NBA so we will take it. The Celtics beat the Raptors 112-96 without JB!!! Pritchard went off for 33pts alongside 8reb and 10ast!!! He had 19pts in the 3rd quarter and was truly unstoppable. In a game where JB isn't there to leave his mark, you need guys to step up and while Pritchard surely did, he wasn't along. This was one of the more impressive wins of the year because of the contributions we got off the bench!Hugo left his mark with his defensive tenacity but also added a 10pt 10reb double double with some monster plays down the stretch. Luka Garza was an absolute monster on the glass also adding a 12pt 10reb double double with his9 Offensive Rebounds!!!! While Simons wasn't super efficient in this game, you also got 15pts from him too so this was a real team effort which you love to see! The Celtics BEAT THE HEAT 129-116 after an impressive 4th quarter stretch with contributions from a lot of guys. Derrick White was Mr Consistent in this game and seemed to hit every big shot imaginable on his way to a 33pt 5reb 6ast game with 9 3pt makes!!! JB, while it was certainly a slow start with just 6pts in the first half, added another 30pt game which he has done in 12 of his last 13 games! On top of his 30pts he also led the team with 9reb and 7ast along with a 10-11 FT performance to make up for last game lol. What makes this win more impressive is the performances we got from our bench. Hauser was 5-6 from 3 with 15pts, Simons added 14pts and Hugo had 10pts 8reb 2stl and a block. Hugo was absolutely key down the stretch on both sides of the ball and it made it impossible to take him out. He ended up with 29 minutes tonight which you just love to see. The Celtics lost to the Pistons 112-105 in another game that they could've/should've won. The Celtics started this game shooting 5-11 from 3 and ended the game shooting 10-39 so in quarters 2-4 they shot just 5-28 which is 17%. Derrick White and JB seemed to be the only 2 that could get any sort of consistent scoring going especially down the stretch. White led the team with 14 4th quarter points alongside JBs 7 so between the 2 of them, they scored 21 of the teams 24 4th quarter pts... They both ended the night with 30+ point performances. The Celtics' 5 game win streak comes to an end after a true tale of two halves. They lost 116-101 after being up 67-60 in the first half. They scored 35 points in the first quarter and just 34 points in the entire second half.... They shot 15 for their last 54 which is just 27% and ended the game at 38.6% from the field which is their lowest of the year. JB and Walsh combined for 50 of the teams 101 points and did it on a very efficient 66% from the field and 62% from 3 so that really goes to show you how poorly everyone else shot in this one.... Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma were unstoppable and shifted this game entirely for the Bucks. We break it all down along with a full player analysis in the podcast. The Celtics beat the Raptors 121-113 and have moved into 3rd place in the Eastern Conference!!!! After an 0-3 start to this season, I don't think anybody expected this type of turnaround and certainly not this fast but here we are. I did say coming into this season that this team was going to be a lot of fun to watch but they probably weren't going to be much more than a .500 team. I was certainly wrong about the record but I was definitely right about how much fun this team has been. Mazzulla has these guys all bought in and playing their hearts out and it has been awesome to see so many guys on different nights contributing to their success. Derrick White and JB were huge in tonight's win but they really did get contributions all over the place. White had some clutch shots and defensive plays down the stretch and JB was 6-6 from the FT line in the 4th solidifying this win. The Lakers were without Luka, LeBron and Smart and it certainly showed as the Celtics steamrolled them 126-105. JB led the way again with 30pts 8reb and 8ast and his playmaking was on full display tonight. White hit some timely baskets and the Celtics got contributions up and down the lineup which was fun to watch.There were a ton of individual player performances to talk about but the majority of it comes down to shot making. No JB, No Problem! Okay, yes it was the Wizards and yes they were injured but my goodness did this team show out. D White had a great game leading the way with 30pts 7reb and 9ast and looked like vintage D White which was a great sign and hopefully a sign of things to come. Jordan Walsh continued his brilliant play creating a new career high in pts with 22 to go alongside 7reb 2stl and a blk. While those two really shined, we had 7 guys in double digits so got contributions up and down this roster which was great to see with JB out. The Celtics pull off another crunch time win over the Knicks 123-117 and this was a rollercoaster through and through! The Celtics found themselves down big early after a brutal 32-21 1st quarter but put up two monster quarters after that due to a scorching hot JB who ended the game with 42pts including 18 in the 2nd and 15 in the 3rd!As impressive as he was for the majority of this game, I think the real story of tonight is the play of Hugo, Walsh and Minott! Hugo completed shifted the energy in the 2nd quarter making every huge play defensively, Minott did that in the 2nd and 4rd while hitting some huge shots and then Jordan Walsh was arguably our clutch performer. Jordan had a huge offensive rebound and putback on a Minott miss and JB miss in back to back possessions to go up 109-101 and then had a huge steal next possession and then ended his night with a phenomenal finish at the rim putting the C's up 115-110 along with a huge rebound late in the game. The Celtics beat the Cavs 117-115 and Pritchard put on a show!!! Despite an immense amount of hate from some fans, he puts up 42pts on a crazy efficient 15-22 from the field and 6-11 from 3! The Celtics lost 119-115 to the Timberwolves despite a JB masterclass. JB led the way with 41pts 6reb 7ast and was efficient doing it shooting 53% from the field and 45% from 3. He also had a huge pullup 3 to tie the game at 110 capping a Celtics 12-0 run before the Timberwolves pulled away. This game was also one of the best Queta games we have seen in his career. Queta scored 19pts and added 18rebs and 2blks. Its certainly a tough way to lose when you have 2 guys put on incredible performances but it was one of the more fun games to watch. WOWW!! The Celtics snap the Pistons 13 game win streak in a 117-114 thriller!! This game was back and forth the entire way and ended with a huge clutch time win with huge performances from White, JB and Baylor. Derrick White had a lackluster first half scoring just 2pts on 0-3 from the field but erupted for 25pts in the second half including 11 pts in the final 4:30. JB had a 33pt double double and Baylor played a really good game on both sides of the ball.This was a huge test for the C's. The Pistons are a big team that rebounds really well and we came into the game without Queta and had a bad Luka Garza game and still came away with the win despite the Pistons grabbing 21 offensive rebounds. A great 3pt shooting night and timely baskets put the Celtics forward and you love to see it especially against a team like Detroit! The highlight was a spectacular second quarter where the team dropped a stunning 48 points on 78.3% shooting, building a massive 80-57 lead at the half. The Celtics vs. Clippers matchup quickly turned into a tale of two games, starting with an early 24-point Boston blow-out. After going up 37-30 in the first, the Celtics opened the third quarter with an 8-0 run, extending their lead to a seemingly insurmountable 71-49. However, a massive 23-7 run by the Clippers immediately closed the gap, turning the blowout into a nail-biter and setting the stage for a dramatic fourth quarter with the Celtics barely hanging on to a 90-85 lead.   The final minutes were defined by clutch plays and chaos, with the Celtics needing a late 9-0 run to hold off the charging Clippers. The Celtics blow the doors of the Grizzlies 131-95 and we finally got to see 48 minutes of great basketball. Granted, it came against a bad Grizzlies team that was also decimated with injuries but you have to love seeing good basketball regardless. Pritchard led the way in this one with 24pts alongside 6reb and 9ast and was making some insane passes out there getting everyone involved. This was also the first time this season where Derrick White truly looked like his old self which is great to see!This was another game where Queta and Luka Garza really played well contributing 13pts 8reb and 14pts 7reb respectively. Because of their strong play, the Celtics did out rebound Memphis 58-41 in this game! Overall, there are a lot of strong performances and not a lot of negative to talk about which isn’t how a lot of these early season games have gone lol. The Celtics come up with a great 111-107 win over the Magic and this one was fueled by the excellent play of our bench. The Player of the Game in my eyes in Luka Garza who ended the night with 16pts 8reb 3ast and a steal and came up huge down the stretch of this game but also helped fuel a 13-0 run mid fourth to give the Celtics an 11pt lead. Anfernee Simons added 25pts in this one all of which came in the first half and he single handedly not only kept us in the game but got us the lead in the second quarter. Jordan Walsh was also incredible adding 6pts 6reb 4ast and 2stl including some huge plays down the stretch including a dagger 3 to go up 110-105 with 12 seconds left so very impactful performance from him.JB continued playing at a high level with 27pts in this one and we got a really good 4th quarter from Derrick White as part of his 21pt 3stl game. White was a true menace on the defensive side all night alongside Jordan Walsh and Hugo Gonzalez. This wasn’t a perfect game but it felt damn good after the last couple from this team!
