look at those strict gun laws in IL. smh stop scapegoating. I just moved from salt lake to my home in IL I work in highland park. While i was not in the area on the 4th but i was the next day it is damn tragic. We dont need thoughts and prayers its time for action. Stop being cowards ban em buy em back and destroy them other countries have done it. You cant protext yourself from a tryannical government with an ar 15 anyway you are outnumbered and outgunned. Balanced budget amendments make it more difficult to use countercyclical spending to address economic downturns. The general idea of government being more responsible with spending is good, but a balanced budget amendment is the wrong way to address that issue.

I think that Dan McCay's analogy of the legislature being the people's parents is exactly the problem. They are not our parents, we are not their children. They shouldn't be making our decisions for us. They are there to do the will of the people, not to decide their will.
