This week on The Bravo Bench, things heated up as Ace and Ana took a little detour down memory lane before David even had a chance to join the fray. Ana couldn't resist filling Ace in on David's swanky upbringing, complete with not one, not two, but three homes! Naturally, Ace saw an opportunity and wasted no time propositioning David—more than once, just in case the first pitch didn't land. But the real fun began when Ace turned his attention to the wild world of TLC. With the return of Sister Wives and some fresh Duggar family drama. Ana, never one to shy away from a grim tale, had her case files full of stories that were anything but uplifting—though one did come with a RHOM twist that you won’t want to miss. Then, David got straight into it, discussing, among other things, some RHONJ tea—Frank Catania claims that Teresa Giudice has stepped down from the show? Huh? And dished on RHOC and the latest scandal: “Lexi” and “Johnny Aioli’s” Blackmail debacle. Turns out, it’s not just reality TV drama—it's actually a felony, punishable by up to a year in prison and some hefty fines. How does 75k sound? This trio is really hitting their stride when it comes to dishing out the judgments. This is one episode you won’t want to miss! This is another Hurrdat Media Production. In this pilot episode David, Ana, and Ace dive into some juicy controversial topics. Kicking things off with TLC’s Forbidden Love, debating whether an ex-Amish guy who allegedly saw bestiality is guilty by association. Then, Ana drops a wild story about an Olympic pole vaulter whose manhood aka package might have cost him the medal and how she’s actually researched penis size by nationality.  The conversation shifts to Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey with the hosts throwing shade about the show’s toxicity and speculating on the future of the franchise especially Jennifer Aydin and Teresa Giudice. Ana gets into the “trad wife” trend, featuring Ballerina Farms—a former Juilliard ballerina now living on a farm with the heir to the Jet Blue fortune while raising 8 kids with no nanny. Oppressed much?  Ace roasts his least favorite sister wife and her tragic business idea. The hosts then dissect Alexis Bellino’s drama with our favorite aioli Johnny J and dish out some spicy celebrity gossip, including the messy on-again, off-again saga of Ben Affleck, JLo and the faux hawk that broke the internet. With irreverent humor and sharp commentary, the hosts have set the stage for a no-holds-barred podcast. This is another Hurrdat Media Production. Introducing Jane Mayer, David Grann, and Patrick Radden Keefe on the Importance of a Good Villain. from The New Yorker Radio Hour.Follow the show: The New Yorker Radio HourDuring the 2023 New Yorker Festival, three legendary staff writers got together to discuss the craft of investigative journalism: digging for information like detectives, and then presenting it in a way to rival the best thrillers. For each of these writers, the “bad guy” —whose actions usually set the story in motion – needs to be presented in three dimensions; trusting the reader to grapple with that person’s perspective is key to an engrossing story. “I look at these big, boring issues often, like economic inequality or corruption in politics,” Jane Mayer says. “You take a subject like campaign finance – the Citizens United decision and how it’s corrupted politics. If you can find somebody like [Charles or David] Koch and explain there actually was a billionaire behind so much of this, and he has a story, and he has a family, and there are always screwed-up fathers and sons involved in these families. . . . It means that you’re able to explain the ethical choices people make.” Mayer is best known for her book “Dark Money,” about the Koch brothers; David Grann wrote “Killers of the Flower Moon” and “The Wager,” both best-sellers; and Patrick Radden Keefe covered the Sackler family’s opioid dynasty in “Empire of Pain,” and a murder during the Troubles in Northern Ireland in “Say Nothing.”  They were joined by their editor, The New Yorker’s Daniel Zalewski.   DISCLAIMER: Please note, this is an independent podcast episode not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in conjunction with the host podcast feed or any of its media entities.
