It's been a while since the Seahawks hosted a playoff game with fans in the stands. We discuss the excitement over that and some of the games this weekend. Then, we dig into the Sam Darnold conversation and what some of the national media narrative around him is after clinching the division. Plus, we discuss whether a comfy mattress or pillow is more important when sleeping away from home, if it's acceptable to order diet coke for breakfast, and more in Answer the Quesiton Jerk.
Brock and Salk react to Mike Macdonald talking about faith in football and with his team, as it led them to a conversation about faith in sports and why it has made many athletes so successful. Later, they bring on Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network for his weekly segment in which he analyzes the Seahawks dominant defensive win over the Rams, Charles Cross, the NFC playoff field and plenty more.
Brock and Salk share some laughs about the very long Mike Macdonald pause during their conversation yesterday and compare it to the pause in their interview from a couple of years ago with former UW defensive tackle Vita Vea. They then dive further in to Sam darnold, and the idea of viewing him more as a football player rather than a quarterback specifically. In Blue 88, Brock takeas a look at some of the attitude that Mike Macdonald has learned from John Schneider, what led to the end of Pete Carroll's time with the Raiders and which head coaching job would be most enticing for Klint Kubiak.
There was a lot that stood out to Salk after their conversation yesterday with Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald, and he gies through some of it to open the show. Then, they re-air that conversation with Mike Macdonald.
Mike Macdonald joins Brock and Salk to discuss the Seahawks locking up the number one seed in the NFC with their win over the Niners Saturday, the love that these players have for one another, whether Sam Darnold using his legs more was part of the game plan, some unselfish plays that deserve a shout out, Charles Cross getting a new deal and why John Schneider should be executive of the year.
We spend some time discussing how important organizational alignment is to an NFL team's success and how the Seahawks have created that. Then, in Need to Know, we discuss the Seahawks locking up the number one seed in the NFC, Charles Cross getting a new deal, the latest on the NFL coaches being fired today, how the NFL playoff seeding turned out and the Kraken winning a shootout Friday night. **The Mike Macdonald Show can only be found exclusively on the Seattle Sports YouTube page and the Seattle Sports app until 10 am Tues morning.
Brock and Salk discuss the great Seahawks culture that has been established under Mike Macdonald and how much this group of players loves playing together. Then, they go through all of their Seahawks Takeaways after their win over the 49ers.
The Seahawks defense is truly suffocating, as they showed against the 49ers, so Brock and Salk share just how impressed they were yet again. They then debate the play of Sam Darnold and if they need more from him or not in the playoffs, as well as how many question marks still surround the Seahawks QB. In Blue 88, topics include the Seahawks Super Bowl odds, what the Seahawks will do during the first round bye and a potential new nickname for the Seahawks defense that Leonard Williams described.
The Seahawks beat the 49ers and clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and Salk reacts to it all to open the show. Then, they go Around The Weekend with a variety of NFL storylines.
Brady Henderson is in for Mike Salk today. We react to our favorite clips from guests like Daniel Jeremiah, Mike Macdonald and Joe Buck this week. Then, Mike Salk checks in with his final thoughts on the Seahawks 49ers matchup and we take your calls as we do every Friday.
The hour starts by Brock and Brady Henderson going Around The NFL, with storylines featuring Lamar Jackson, Dan Campbell, Josh Allen and more. Later, Nick Wagoner, 49ers beat reporter for ESPN, joins the show to help look ahead to the upcoming Week 18 game between the Seahawks and 49ers, featuring some key points to watch for in the contest as each team looks to secure the NFC West and the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
Brock and Brady Henderson of ESPN help set up the Week 18 showdown between the Seahawks and 49ers and some important things to take note of ahead of the game. They also decide if rushing judgement is warranted for the SEC, John Schneider/Pete Carroll and Tom Brady/Bill Belichick. In Blue 88, topics include the biggest mismatch the Seahawks will have over the 49ers, the upcoming QB class for the 2026 NFL Draft and a couple of football numbers worth looking at every week.
Maura and Lyle open the show by reacting to some sound from both Mike Macdonald and Kyle Shanahan discussing the potential first round bye for the Seahawks and how both coaches discussed it much differently publicly. Then, they re-air Brock and Salk's conversation with Joe Buck of ESPN, who will be on the broadcast for the Seahawks-49ers game, to help preview the matchup and analyze a bunch of different upcoming storylines.
Brock and Salk get into a debate over the level of concern we should have for Sam Darnold's turnovers. Then, we take a look at some of the more surprising things to happen in Seattle Sports in 2025 and Salk crowns a Trash Takes winner.
The hour starts with a late Blue 88, with topics including how Mike Macdonald and Kyle Shanahan will view Week 1 compared to Week 18, who is a surprising comparison for Sam Darnold and something he heard from Ben Solak that he disagrees with. Afterwards, they bring on Brian Nemhauser (aka Hawkblogger) to get his insight on Sam Darnold, some QB comparisons for him, the upcoming Week 18 matchup with the 49ers and much more.
Brock and Salk dive into the role of John Schneider since he has fully been in charge and the success he has had with all of the decisions that he has made over the last couple of seasons. After that, Joe Buck of ESPN joins the show, who will be broadcasting the Seahawks-49ers game on Saturday. He helps preview the contest and why he thinks it will be so interesting, along with his thoughts on Sam darnold and his season, along with plenty more.
Salk is a big fan of New Years Eve and explains why to open the show. Then, they re-air their conversation with Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network to hear his thoughts on Sam Darnold and some QB comparisons, the upcoming Week 18 game against the 49ers and more.
Salk strongly objects to a Jay Cutler comparison that Daniel Jeremiah made to Sam Darnold's game. Brock looks further at what Jermiah had to say about whether Darnold can elevate in the playoffs like Eli Manning did. Then, Ben Fennell joins the show to discuss what he liked about the Seahawks in covering the Seattle Carolina game, what to expect from Sam Darnold week 18 and in the playoffs, and what makes this defensive line so good.
The hour starts with an early version of Here's The Thing for the week with a bunch of listener voicemails. After that, Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network joins the show for his weekly appearance to break down some Sam Darnold comparisons, the upcoming Week 18 game between the Seahawks and 49ers and plenty more.

After 22, the M's introduced that horrific Home Run Trident and their offense has had as much growth as a napalmed rice patty field ever since. Look, this organization has issues, but they should not be this frustrating. Get rid of that thing.

Embarrassing game that should make the fan base wake up and revolt. Stanton should never be allowed to show his face near T-Mobile without drawn and quartered. oh, and another thing, the CCs suck and should be demolished on the pitchers' mound in a Disco demolition night inspired sacrifice to the Baseball Gods for forsaking this decent city for so long.

5 great pitchers can get you to the playoffs even with a league average offense, but only in the National League.

Brock, man just do your own show. Salk sucks the fun out of thinking about the points you make. Close to unsubscribing.
