The biggest sporting event in the calendar year happened - The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and naturally that leads the boys into debating what the best Adam Sandler movie is. We get back to sports by asking if there will be a better duo in hockey than the Sedin twins and is it easier to chase a cup in the NBA than the NHL? The boys talk about their favourite deals of the NBA trade deadline + AJ’s favourite football helmet swinging big man is back! Olly also brought a cricket ball into the studio which cause quite the stir, Zack breaks some news LIVE and a Shoeless Joe Jackson debate for the ages - not just about whether the restaurant chain is named after him - and so much more...

The Super Bowl is tomorrow and there is nothing else you need to get ready for the game other than the Broke and Opinionated lads giving you a somewhat special run down of the big game. Should the Super Bowl be moved to a Sunday? Can we get the first ever unanimous vote on who is going to win? Plus we give you some hints on which bets to make for your best Super Bowl money winners! And we take a stab at the all important question of Greatest Super Bowl Snack! 

We talk about the fact that now that Zion has learned how to land, he is taking the NBA by storm despite only really showing up for the fourth quarter! The NHL All Star Competition is Friday and they have some new competitions that involve shooting pucks over the fans heads so naturally Olly asks the boys, "What would you rather have, a puck shot at you or getting checked centre ice?" Is there possibly another landing spot for Derrick Henry other than Tennessee? And HOW could we NOT touch on Conor McGregor and ask whether he should travel to a boxing ring in the near future! In a special episode, Olly is joined by Broke & Opinionated's first ever guest, Blair Pierce, to talk about the biggest UFC fight of the decade so far, UFC 246. After a few bits and bobs about the other fights on the Main Card we delve right into Conor versus Cowboy. Blair and Olly break down whether Conor moving up to 170 is going to diminish his punching power and if Cowboy's chin is as weak as it has looked in his last two fights. We give our predictions and look ahead to what could be in store for these two UFC studs in 2020. It's all about Proper Twelve v. We make a smashing return to the pod but Justin makes a booboo with the opening song. On this episode we talk about which of the major North American leagues has the best playoffs. We pick who we think is going to continue their march to the Super Bowl and you know we recorded this before the games because there are some boneheaded picks. If you were a pro athlete what number would you pick? Oh and Zack sucks us in to Habs talk before Olly and Zack disagree with Justin about the relevance and need of fighters in the NHL and more. 

Wilt or Bolt? Celtics won eight straight and no one will top that right...? Somehow we get into the biggest discussion about chairs versus people. Where is Taylor Hall going to go or can New Jersey hold onto him? Zack goes from 0 - 3 in his first NFL picks to 3 and 0 the next week...does he actually know what he is talking about? We stand with the Black Lives Matter movement,   This podcast may have reached its natural conclusion due to unforeseen COVID circumstances, however I thought it important to highlight that it is possible that this particular episode where Colin Kaepernick is discussed might have missed some of the nuance of his stance against the NFL. At the time I was unsure exactly how my co-presenters would respond. I believe the initial idea was to put his political stance, and kneeling, to the side and try to examine the player on the field. However I think not only is it incredibly difficult to separate Kaepernick kneeling and his abilities on the football field, it just plain shouldn't be. They are one and the same. To do so would be wrong and remove some of Kaepernick's agency and the power of a simple act, and that was never the goal. Our support of his protest went without saying, however, on mediums such as this you need to exactly voice those thoughts and beliefs otherwise it is left open to interpretation. His sacrifice is one of the greatest we have seen on a sports field in memory and only now is finally, getting the recognition it deserves.  - Olly, Host of the Broke and Opinionated Postcast First pod, take it easy with the first one you might say?
