Ep14 - SCF Recap/US Open Preview

The guys start this episode talking hockey. Jeff poses the question if Vegas was a juggernaut or if the magic just ran out for Florida. After they give their thoughts on the Golden Knights dominate Stanley Cup win, they jump into LACC and their initial thoughts of the golf course. Would you layup on hole 6 all 4 days? Will Rickie Fowler actually layup on a 90 yard par 3? With Jay's putting woes, how many 3 putts would he have out there? And with Jeff and Spear's nerves of steel, would they even be able to chip off a tight lie in those conditions?

Ep13 - The Blasphemy that is The PGA Tour

The guys start this episode talking about the Breaking News yesterday of a PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and PIF alliance. It's not a merger - it's an acquisition. Jay takes the stance that PGA Tour players shouldn't be compensated for their loyalty while Jeff takes the opposing stance. Spear gives his thoughts on how he thinks this new league can affect the development leagues and what he would like to see. After wrapping up the golf talk, the guys recap if they think the Panthers can make the SCF a series.

Ep12 - Conference Sweeps?

In this weeks Spear-less episode, Jeff and Jay start off talking some golf - specifically the PGA Championship. They get into why Brooks is so good come major time and if he's solidifying himself as one of the best players of this generation. After, they delve into how Hovland handled himself all week and when his next break is coming. Speaking of big breaks, did Michael Block have the quickest fall from fame after saying he'd be an all timer if he had Rory's length? Finally, the guys talk some hockey and preview a Vegas Florida Cup Final.

Ep11 - Death, Taxes, and Canada losing the Cup

In this weeks episode, the guys start off talking Stars hockey and how electric the AAC was for Game 7. Once they're done recapping hockey, they give their thoughts on the PGA Championship this week and who they expect to win as well as if the LIV guys will continue their major success.

Once they're gone recapping, they jump all over the NHL Lottery conspiracy and Jeff tries to understand how it works. Ep8 - Chop Session

Jay loses it early and often in this episode. The boys start off talking about the Stars and how Spear is feeling up 3-2. After covering that series, they switch over to the Bolts and how Jeff and Jay are feeling down 3-1. Once that's over, the podcast becomes unhinged as they begin to touch upon the rest of the playoffs - who will win the Devils/Rangers series? Can the Kings can come back from down 3-2? Is Winnipeg done and does the Canes series end in 6? Can Florida make this a series and if so, what does they say about Boston. All that and more in this jam packed episode.

Ep7 - NHL Playoffs

After the guys were off last week due to a much needed (and deserved) week off, they get this show started by giving a quick recap of the Masters. They touch upon Rahm's big win as well as if Rory will ever win a green jacket and if he needs a caddie change to do so. After that golf recap, they switch over to hockey and recap the Game 1's around the league. Spear talks about watching the Stars lose in Double OT in person and gives his thoughts on the Pavelski hit. Jeff and Jay jump in on how they're feeling with Tampa's big win and all the guys talk about what they expect to see the rest of the way.

Ep6 - Masters Preview

On this special Wednesday episode, the guys preview The 2023 Masters. With the weather looking suspicious, they talk about which group of guys might get the best draw and how a rain delay leading to Tiger having to play 27 holes in a day is the worst case scenario. After, they delve into the new changes Augusta has made on hole 13 and why they may or may not be looking forward to how that hole affects the tournament. Lastly, they lock in their winning picks as well as picking a top 15 player to miss the cut.

Ep5 - Two Many Goalies

In this episode, the guys begin talking about how the Stars and Lightning look with roughly 10 games left in the season. After Spear gives his preferred first round matchup for Dallas, they delve into the idea of how two goalies may work for Boston in the playoffs. After giving their thoughts, they recap the Dell Matchplay and give their ideas on how the PGA Tour can implement another match play type event in the coming seasons. Finally, they talk about Justin Thomas falling out of the Top 10 in the OWGR and what could be the reasoning behind that.

Ep4 - Golf Talk

In this episode, the guys forget to talk about hockey. With the WGC Match Play happening in Austin, the pending 2026 golf ball change, and LIV Tucson, hockey takes a back seat this week - until playoff time. We start by talking about LIV Tucson and the changes LIV has made as well as the changes we think they should make. We then talk about our picks for the Match Play with a couple sleepers to watch out for. We continue talking about the pending rollback, which is at the forefront of golf media and finish with Jay calling everyone to watch out for Tommy Fleetwood this week.

Ep3 - Avs Can't Skate With Us

After a week of the Stars putting up football numbers, Spear is riding high while the guys tape watching the Lightning/Devils game. They dive into the NHL replay center and try to explain what is and isn't offsides as well as goal tender interference. After, they give a brief outlook on the current playoff picture then jump into the Players Championship and why Scottie is so boring and fun to watch. Finally, the guys delve deep into the R&A and USGA talking about a potential rollback in the golf ball and how that could affect the "product."

Ep2 - LIVing Rent Free

With a ton of golf storylines, we delve pretty deep into the PGA Tour and barely scrape the hockey surface. The show kicks off talking about the Arnold Palmer and Kurt Kitayama's big win. We quickly transition into Rory and Spieth's close finish as well as Rory's off course comments. After, we talk about the PGA Tour's new schedule changes at length. Is the PGA Tour becoming more like LIV each day or are they just making necessary changes in order to grow the Tour? Finally, we delve into the Stars with Spear riding high while the Lightning and Jeff/Jay ride low.

Ep1 - Hello World

Episode 1 is all about getting to know your hosts. All 3 of Broken Stix co-hosts are ex college golfers and avid hockey fans. Jeff (nickname to come) played at Fordham whereas Jay (Boog) and Andrew (Spear) were teammates at St. Edward's University. The show starts off talking about LIV and we give our thoughts on their 2023 campaign as well as how it compared to the Honda. After, we talk about how we think the PGA Tour can change who gets in to the non-elevated events, hopefully creating a path for KFT and Monday Qualifiers to find success. Finally, we delve into the NHL trade-deadline and give our thoughts on the 2023 playoff outlook.
