Description

Just a couple of bros talkin’ books. Hosted by Nerdy Ernie and Ryan ”All” Capps, with the occasional appearance from George (Ernie’s attention-loving golden retriever). On this podcast, the bros will nerd out over their favorite authors, ranging from literary giants like Gene Wolfe, Ursula K. Le Guin, or Jorge Luis Borges; to contemporary, can't-miss bestsellers like Rebecca Roanhorse, Fonda Lee, or Pierce Brown. If you've sensed a pattern, you're probably spot on: we like our science fiction, and we love our epic fantasy. No genre is off-limits however, and you might find a Cormac McCarthy here on occasion or a Keigo Higashino; our palate has a wide range of tastes, and we hope to share as much as we can of it with other bros who love books or are learning to love reading!

The bros of BBC talk Dune by Frank Herbert; the novel, the movie, and the series as a whole.  NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem. Frank Herbert's classic masterpiece—a triumph of the imagination and one of the bestselling science fiction novels of all time. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, heir to a noble family tasked with ruling an inhospitable world where the only thing of value is the "spice" melange, a drug capable of extending life and enhancing consciousness. Coveted across the known universe, melange is a prize worth killing for.... When House Atreides is betrayed, the destruction of Paul's family will set the boy on a journey toward a destiny greater than he could ever have imagined. And as he evolves into the mysterious man known as Muad'Dib, he will bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream. A stunning blend of adventure and mysticism, environmentalism and politics, Dune won the first Nebula Award, shared the Hugo Award, and formed the basis of what is undoubtedly the grandest epic in science fiction.
