In this episode, Isela and Mark had the privilege of learning from Financial Coach and Advisor Elyse Alexander, who shares her incredible insights about our spiritual connection to wealth and all the ways we actually get in the way of inviting and receiving abundance.  Are you consciously aware of your relationship with money? Or abundance? Did you know that money is only energy? And yet we create so many barriers to achieving and receiving the wealth that is our inherent Divine right.  Culturally speaking, many of us have so very many beliefs that we continue to embrace:  Money doesn't grow on trees.  I'm not deserving of financial abundance.  I have to hustle and grind in order to make my dreams come true.  Wealth happens to "those people" not people like me.  I'm not deserving of wealth. Just not worthy.  Think about the actual words you think and say on a regular basis: I wish I had more money.  I can't afford that.  I hope I have enough in my account (as you're about to swipe your card at a store). I just can't seem to make ends meet.  I need to stop being greedy--I have enough.  I don't actually need a lot of money.  And when we pray for abundance, we're often doing so from a place of scarcity or lack:  I don't have enough money. Please help me make enough money for.... The problem is that the Universe simply aligns with the vibration of your request. If you're coming from scarcity (e.g. FEAR), the Universe will simply respond by validating your underlying beliefs. In this episode, Dr. Isela Garcia announces the online course she's developing specifically for parents and families!  And Mark had lots of questions! As parents, we typically believe that our role is to teach, guide, and support our children so they can become adults that accomplish whatever it is your family values (success, education, happiness, contributing to the world, fame, status, etc.).  More often than not, we raise our children in ways that's similar to how we were raised---sometimes that's great and sometimes it's not so great. Many of us are walking around with unhealed trauma that shows up in the most inconvenient times, especially as we engage with our children! And even for those who had great childhoods--I often wonder about your sense of self, your confidence, ability to communicate and problem solved effectively, as well as any lingering guilt or shame.  Even with the best intentions, parenting can be incredibly challenging. And many folx use a punishment and reward model, thinking it's teaching their child to do the right thing when in fact, it isn't. Not at all.  There are three significant parts to what is called conscious parenting. (1) Understanding how the brain and body develops, (2) knowing and accepting who your child truly is, and (3) understanding the ins and outs of the sacred contract you entered upon even before this specific lifetime. There is a divine purpose in your relationship with your child/ren. God didn't choose you as the parent of your child. A topic we will always revisit is about becoming the observer. The key to unraveling the stories, the attachments, and the egoic perspectives begins with the ability to step back and simply observe, without judging or should-ing all over ourselves. When we're able to observe in the same way we watch a great movie, we will begin to notice the veil lifting, slowly but surely. Perspectives lose their emotional charge. Attachments begin to fade slightly. And we realize how much of it is simply a story we're telling ourselves.  In truth, we are divine beings. When we begin to become aware of who we really are, we realize that we are IN THIS WOLRD, but NOT OF THIS WORLD. There is an intersection between our physical experience (some refer to it as the illusion, the separation, or the dream state) and the truth of who we are (our Spirit self, our Higher Self, or our Union where we are still one with God).   As active participants in this physical existence, we often wonder how it's possible to live in alignment with our Truth while making sense of what's happening in the world. We came here to experience all there is to learn as an individual, within the Collective Consciousness. Many feel compelled to act on a larger scale, given what's happening in the world, while others choose to extend love and kindness to those that surround them.
