Advice From Inside The Chateau Orquevaux Art Residency

In today’s episode I’ve interviewed the entire November 2023 cohort and asked them 4 questions regarding their experience at the Chateau d’Orquevaux Artist & Writers Residency. We go over expectations, what they accomplished, what they wished they had brought, and what are they going to change in their life once the residency is over. The artists in this cohort ranged in age from 19 to mid 70’s and were from 4 different countries. They are sculptures, painters, fiber artists, poets, novelists, screenwriters, and more. I asked them these 4 questions: What did you expect to accomplish at the Chateau d’Orquevaux residency vs what did you actually end up creating? What's something you brought or wish you had brought that would have made your time at the residency better? What are you going to change in your life after coming to this art residency? What's some advice you would have for someone planning on coming to the Chateau Orquevaux? All 21 artists had very different answers and advice, a lot of which is specific to what they create. If you are thinking about going to the Chateau D’Orquevaux art residency and have questions, leave a comment!Thank you so much to my cohort for agreeing to be on Brush Work Podcast!
