Dr. Odera earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and is currently a professor at Minerva Schools. He has founded and led five organizations focusing on socioeconomic development, political development, and food security innovations in Kenya. He has also created and led two field schools on community development in Kenya. His work deals with issues of political development, citizen-politician linkages, microfinance institutions, the informal economy in Africa, and community development. He has researched, written, and taught extensively on these topics.
Even is the Co-founder of Glint Solar, a VC-backed startup that is using AI/ML and satellite data to do quick and comprehensive pre-feasibility analyses for floating solar sites. Even has experience from the U.S. State Department, Kroll Associates, NATO, Tysvar and more. He holds degrees from Columbia University and Macalester College. He was in 2019 awarded the title "Global Energy Leader of Tomorrow" by The New York Times and Energy Intelligence.
Marco is a Berlin-based musician, filmmaker, videographer and video coach. After studying filmmaking and journalism in London, Marco worked for CNN international. In 2012 his longing to be self-employed brought him to Berlin where he is producing promotional videos for social enterprises and tech companies. Marco is currently making music under the artist name Marco Mello.
Franziska is an Experience designer on a mission to make slow, human-centered space design the ‘New Normal’. She co-Founded Space & Pepper - an agency applying UX Design Principles to Community- and Hybrid Spaces. Franziska is also working with the Space Lab collective to research and design better living and working spaces. She has previously worked with marketing for Coca-Cola and Lufthansa.
Almir is a senior consultant at Forse. Previously he was a technical student at CERN- the European Organisation for Nuclear Research where he worked on development and maintenance of a beam dynamics simulation software. This software was used in the commissioning of the new linear accelerator LINAC4. (We will get to what all this means today). He is currently working with NRK (the Norwegian public broadcasting company) on optimising their streaming service using F sharp - a functional-first programming language.
Einar Ingebrigsten is currently working as the Chief Scientist at DoLittle. A tech startup from Norway helping to create Line-of-Business applications. (We will get to what that means later). He has been programming since 1994 and worked on building playstation, PC and XBOX games, worked as a technology evangelist, worked with software for big enterprise and is now working at DoLittle.
Anna Vaverková is a 22-year old musician from Prague, living and creating music in Berlin. At the basis of Anna's musicianship lays her classical music education, which has later on added up the influences of pop, singer-songwriter, electronic music and last but not least 60's inspired indie. Anna started as a piano-based singer-songwriter, playing her original music throughout cafés in Prague. Apart from her solo career, Anna is also a member of an emerging indie band called The Flavians, which has released their debut album “Ordinary People in an Ordinary World” in January 2020. Currently, Anna is working on her new singles to be released later on in 2020. The magazine York Calling said about her debut solo track called No Time For a Love Song that, ‘her singing is delicate and wispy, like a cloud made of crystals. The whole thing is the perfect amount of minimalism’.
Reza is a Social Entrepreneur & Performance Artist focused on interactive poetry! He was born in Tehran, grew up in Germany, postgraduated in Australia, worked in Chicago and in Paris, and is now in Berlin. He has built an award winning Social Startup called Heartbeat Edutainment to empower children and youth throughout Germany through social music and art production. And now he has created HeartBeatBus which is Europe’s first mobile film- photo and recording studio. **goosebumps warning**
Juliet Young is currently working as a Medical Doctor at the University Hospital of North Norway, in Harstad. Previous to this she did her degree at the University of Oslo and was working as a Licenced Medical Student at Oslo University Hospital. Juliet was simultaneously also serving as Head of Communication at the Young Ambassadors Program- a self-development program for high schoolers in Norway. She is also a Fullbright Scholar and was selected for Fulbright’s Summer Institute for European Student Leaders on Social Entrepreneurship in US.
Pouria Ruhi is currently the founder and CEO of LastCall- aiming to make last minute tickets to event more accessible. Previously he was the Marketing Director for Comfort Hotel, with the Nordic Choice Group (one of the largest hotel chains in the Nordics). Pouria has also written a children's novel and co-founded several startups.
Prof. Kern is currently teaching at Minerva Schools in the Natural Sciences department. Prior to this she taught biology at Claremont Colleges and earned her PhD from MIT on the topic of bacterial metabolism. She has had both teaching and mentoring roles at Caltech, MIT and Colorado Colleges.
Rebecca is a student at Minerva Schools - a higher education institution trying to reshape how education works. She is concurrently the Head of Growth at Zerion - a company that has built an interface to access decentralized finance - DeFI. She has also worked with Grassroots Economics in Kenya to look at what DeFi might mean in developmental contexts.
Prof. Kukis has worked as a White House Correspondent for United Press International. After 9/11 he left to cover the US invasion of Iraq writing for Time, The New Republic and Salon. He later wrote the book ‘Voices from Iraq’ a story of the US invasion of Iraq, told entirely from the perspective of Iraqis.

Hanne is a management consultant at PWC at the department of policy and economics. She previously worked as lead for Digitalization projects at the National Suppliers Development Programme to increase state and municipalities ability to implement innovative public procurement. Hanne has also worked as a digital consultant at Sopra Steria on digital strategies, and have experience working with startups as well. She did her Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship, innovation and social science at NTNU.
